are there any other options other than sending it back to traxxas? I got this as part of a trade today and as soon as I pulled it out of the box I could see the output on the motor was not straight...

how bad would that affect things if it was used like this?

I wouldn't run it if it's bent much. If you can easily see the bent, I wouldn't run it.

Where is the bend? If it were me, I might try disassembling the motor and getting the shaft straight. It sorta depends on how bad the bend is and where relative to the rotor itself.

Keep in mind, you may FUBAR the rotor in the process.

I tried to hold it in the same plane and turn the shaft for these two pics:

i doubt you would ever get it 100% true again if you tried to bend it back, i imagine even just a slightly wobbly pinion on a high rpm motor wouldnt be fun.

Yea no way that is runable. Buy a new rotor or for that much money I would just get a new motor.

Sucks, I wonder if the seller knew or it got damaged in shipping. Either way, I would probably talk to them assuming that you thought the motor was in running condition.
