This thread is just so bad now. Bunch of swinging Richards.

The title of the thread, along with the video should have been your first clue that this whole mess was not going to be a deep thinking social-economic debate on the pros and cons of pure capitalism vs pure socialism.

It, more or less, started as a dumpster fire, and we are just adding gasoline...

But seriously, isn't that what these types of threads are for? By allowing things run a little bit amuck here, allows for more civil discussion in the tech sections of the forum. Plus, I am guessing you didn't like my comment about Nevada.

Agreed that this thread was certainly destined for the trash. But, no, your comment didn’t bother me at all, although I’ve not seen any kind of a push to separate the state or ever hear anyone talking about it out here personally.

I’m more referring to the way others (not you) have communicated in this thread which is mostly “I know better than you and here’s my middle finger” type of posts. Baseless opinions presented as fact and implying that one is superior just because they have that opinion. Not much debate or discussion. Just flexing.

Yep, saw this coming since post#1!

This is why I try to stay out of political and religious issues! [emoji850]

They never end well! I've learned the hard way!

I think it's about time to flush this turd rather than stand by and watch it float around the bowl!

I don't know... Have you ever been on one side of the equator on one day, dropped a deuce and watched it swirl one way, then, the next day been on the other side of the equator, dropped another deuce and watch swirl the opposite way? It is quite fascinating. Although, it does piss off the Diving Officer and Chief of the Watch something fierce having to pump poop every four hours because the crew wants to watch the swirling water...

What I never understood about American politics is why do you have to be close to hundred years old to become a presidential candidate?

You have to be 70 years at least. Have silver hair, or golden, apparently. Have a damn happy wife, beautiful happy children. And a whole lot of money behind you. And throw the word "God" around you like it's nothing.

European politicians die of old age before they reach Biden's age. Or Trump's, for that matter. And they don't pretend they have a hotline to Jesus.

Would be cool to do like in Ukraine and vote in a young professional comedian from the sideline who's not tainted by years of corruption and intrigues, as a protest. And he's doing an excellent job, as far as I understand.

I guess it takes a lot of time to get enough influence behind you to get nominated. Ironically, the last young president we had died young.

I just can't understand why Trump still has 45%-50% approval rating. Does 50% of Americans all stupid?

I can’t understand why he doesn’t have a 90% approval rating.

But then again, we know 50% of Americans are idiots.

I mean Creepy Quid Pro Joe the child molester is the best they got? 🤣

As I have stated in the passed, just like the three previous administrations, the Trump administration has been an unmitigated shit-show. But, our "choice" in 2016 was gruesomely awful. So, here we are again, getting to decide what flavor of shit sandwich we want, corn or peanuts.

With that, there is you... With no meaningful posts under your belt, are you like a few others, just here to troll and have no real interest in RC or crawlers? Meaningful dialog is always welcomed, no matter what side of the partisan idiocity you bend over for, but just throwing meaningless turds on the wall is not.
(Just realized I have a lot of fecal references in the post, must be time to go drop a duce.. Or, like I say at work, time to drop the engineers off in the pool).

If you value our constitution and democracy, I don’t understand how you can support this man.

It blows my mind that this isn’t absolutely clear to all the true blue Americans. Trump is NOT a republican. He’s exploiting your values and beliefs for one thing and one thing only, power. Which he uses to line his pockets and hurt the people he hates. The republicans are better than this circus, I really hope more figure it out come election time.

Trump said on Fox’s “Mornings with Maria”: “They need that money in order to have the post office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots.” He added, “If they don’t get those two items, that means you can’t have universal mail-in voting because they’re not equipped to have it.”

"Does 50% of Americans all stupid?" That's terrible English. Only a stupid person would type that sentence.

Also, if you think a person is stupid just because they disagree with you means you are completely ignorant.

You described 98% of modern politicians. They do not give a crap about citizens. They care about the power and the money.

Modern politics has come down to choosing the lesser of two evils. In the case of Clinton vs Trump, the choice was obviously Trump. I think in the case of Biden vs Trump, Trump is still the lesser of the two evils unless you want a creepy man with dementia that assaults children in public. Biden is just another career politician.

I like Trump because he's not a politician. Political correctness has gotten out of hand. Trump is the total opposite of that. He does act like a child on Twitter, which I can't stand, but I also like that he tells it like it is.

The economy was great under Trump until COVID. I don't ask much more from a President than a good economy.

As previously stated, the Trump administration, like three preceding his, have been shit-shows, no doubt.

With that, I am not sure how you are saying that he is lining his pockets. He gives his pay check to charity. You are suspicious of a millionaire that took a pay cut to be a politician, but are not concerned with someone who became a politician then became a millionaire?

Sadly, just like the last round, our alternative is no better. You think "Sniffy-Joe" would be better? Nope, the left, libbies and Dems really had no intention of winning this election, and really are just securing their bitching rights for the next four years. If they had been serious, they would have pushed the typical pre-election BS aside, gotten their 10 best ponies in a room, had them throw all of their skeletons out on the table, then picked the best President and VP candidate under a united front. They didn't.

Considering he spends 1 out of every 3 days at one of his own luxury properties, paying himself with tax payer money, and requiring his “entourage” to stay there as well is one example. I’ve also read that he pays himself more than what they would normally charge for these stays as well.

This does a good job getting into some details, https://www.politico.com/news/2020/01/20/trump-businesses-empire-tied-presidency-100496

Another one...
On March 31 and April 1, Trump Victory — a joint fundraising committee between the Trump campaign and Republican National Committee — made a series of 43 separate payments to Trump Hotel Collection totaling more than $380,000 according to the joint fundraising committee's latest quarterly filing with the Federal Election Commission. The records describe the payments as "facility rentals" and range from more than $2,600 to $10,000 each. The same filing reveals another payment of more than $19,000 to the Trump Hotel Collection at the beginning of March, bringing the total spent by the committee at Trump properties to more than $400,000 in the second quarter of the year....

The Republicans' joint spending at Trump properties has become routine for both the GOP and Trump campaign. Records show since the start of 2019 through the first quarter of 2020, the committee spent more than $1.3 million at Trump properties. Some of the biggest payments over the past two years include a $75,000 payment to Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey in the third quarter of last year and a $126,090 payment to the Trump Hotel Collection in the first quarter of 2020. In 2019, nine payments totaling more than $105,000 also went to the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC between April and June. An RNC official stated factors such as security, prices and convenience are all part of the committee's decision-making process.

Coming up he also wants to hold the G7 at his golf course. $$$

I don’t see Biden as a great option for President, but I see him as harmless. He’ll give America a chance to heal for 4 years and hopefully the parties can get their $#it together by then.

If there is one thing that will win Biden the election, it is this.
Dunno though, to me, mentally he looks like Regan in the last year of office; there is a reason by the DNC upper management is screaming at him to not debate Trump.
