I'm kinda ticked off about something - the rear window decal on my body is applied so crooked that after mounting the utility bed everything looks all cattywampus...

(I haven't thought of that word - that my dear departed dad used to use all the time - in AGES!)

And... HOW THE HECK are you supposed to remove the wheel nut caps without destroying them?

I can't seem to pull them off, and hate to resort to pliers... and I want to install my SSD 5-slot wheels and Boggers.

Oh, well. I may just run it as is for a little while. Maybe after a couple hours in 100+ degree heat I will be able to pull them off with my fingers!

I may reach out to Associated about the body - as you can see, it's really noticeable (I am holding off on installing the utility bed Lexan part as I still need to trim and paint it - and I don't really want to waste paint on this cab - so we will see what Team AE has to say):

Yep, I left a message with Associated's support line about it. I suppose just a decal sheet could fix it... I might not even have to remove the bed to re-apply the window decal. We'll see.

Now, about these darn wheel nut caps...

Not only am I planning on running that existing spare wheel/tireset tomorrow after work, but I have the dreaded TSL Thornbirds on the way!

I need to get those effin' things off...

Heres a old bench technicians trick.

When you need to grab something rounded, slippery metal or plastic, get a good grip with a piece of bicycle inner tube. Cut a section as long as needed, split if wanted, double up line a vice grip or daces on a vise. I have one hanging next to my bench, a snip away.

Try this on those caps!

Funny - I have this thin foam rubber shelf-liner stuff that I have already been trying that trick with - both with pliers AND with my damn vice-grips - still stuck on there!

And now, because I had such a death-grip on the tire, I squeezed all the air out - and since the rims aren't vented, they are staying like that... :lmao:

I'll definitely be venting these rims if I keep them!

Silly me...

I was initially trying to unthread with my fingers - then thought they were press-on, and tried pulling - and when I switched to using the rubber strip and the pliers I was still pulling...

Went back and tried unthreading with the rubber/visegrips and got 'em all off.

D'oh!

I kind of like the utility bed without the lexan. Looks cool like that, especially with those new black wheels. I agree, the black wheels look better. But then again, I have a thing for black.

The bed has nothing holding it down without the lexan, unfortunately...

So, I am trimming it up and prepping it for paint - likely won't actually paint it for a couple days - it's VERY thick lexan - which is good, as it is definitely providing the structure of the bed.

I trimmed the Lexan bedliner for the utility bed, sanded the edges smooth - need to put the body post holes and mounting screw holes in it tomorrow and test fit it.

I'll be painting it soon... and am still thinking about how to paint up the RTR cab body.

It's really thin, might not last that long - so I may be doing something beater-ish...

I agree that the black wheels look better on the Enduro and with that combo it's going to look cool!8)

I haven't yet ran a set of those SSD's, but after seeing how well they look I may have to try a set.
