Brazing Video

Great thread. Thanks so much for all the info here!

Quick question: are you guys using shaded goggles for an oxy/map mix? I have always used these in the past (safety first!) - but I'm having a hard time spotting the flux/steel turn color, which I'm finding critical to know when it's ready for the silver.

Appreciate the help.

always wear goggles.

i use mapp so it doesnt heat that much. you shouldnt' need a hot red glow , so you should be ok with just safety sunglasses i would assume.

Anyone know if the Oxy/Map tanks on a Bernzomatic Oxy/Map torch kit can be swapped out for something larger? I was gifted the kit a while ago, but the tiny tank's are a P.I.T.A.

^ ive wondered the same. i like my little oxy/mapp torch but those little 1lb o2 tanks fizzle out in a hurry.

without reading every post on here I was wondering if someone could answer a simple question. I need to use screws to hold a few part needing brazing to a fixture. I was going to use aluminum screws so they don't get brazed too. what does everyone use in this situation. I wonder if titanium screws could be used? thanks in advance
