Brushless Stampede Mamba Max/5700 w/ a little vid

Basher Stampede I picked up used and have been upgrading it to my liking for the last month or so. I originally bought it to use parts off it for my crawler build but the dang thing was so much fun I had to keep it. Running a Mamba Max esc w/Mamba 5700 motor, powered by a 5000mah 2s lipo pack from Venom. I Installed a VXL trans (old trans is going in my crawler build"thumbsup"), VXL shocks and bearings. Truck already had RPM front arms,c's ect.
Just picked up the Dirt Hawgs and Traxxas rims today so I had to take a few pics before they got dirty. I was playing around with ride height when I took the pictures , I had long shocks on the front. Cg was to high so now its back down. Was running Mashers so the Dirt Hawgs seem a little small but they are good at tires.

This truck is flat out fast and one of funnest rc's I have had and not to mention reliable as hell. Video sucks its off my digi camera but it gives you a good idea of the speed it has:twisted:

Oh yeah thats my Lab Lucas, he loves rc's as much as I do. If he had thumbs he would help me wrench on them!

What kind of run time do you get off the 5000, thanks
 
nice, your dog dropping his bone when you went flying by was funny as hell :lol:. i agree with scooter, look's like he thought of chasing but thought after that would've been a waste of time.

i have a 5700 mamba in my T4 with a 8000 maxx amp 2s lipo and it hauls ass. i tried the same lipo with the traxxas 3500 brushless system, also in my T4 and it's also fast as hell. i tried the 3500 with a 3s lipo, and it's just stupid fast :shock:. it ride's the wheelie bars for about a good 100 feet or so.
 
Thanks guys. Yeah when he was about 5 months he ran out into that same road when he saw a guy walking his dog on the other side, he got hit by a car that was able to slow down to about 15 mph, since then he knows better then to run out in street. At the park I have to stop because he wont, he will chase it until he falls over tired.

As for run times I usually run it for 10-15 min at a time. I can get two to three good 10-15 runs out of it so probably 25-30 min total.

I might put the Mashers back on, they soak up more and let the truck leap up more on jumps. Nothing worse than dropping $55 on new rims and tires just to put your old ones back on!
 
Yeah, Traxxas gets a lot of grief for mass producing bashers, but they're definitely fun! My son always brings his stampede along when I go crawling. That thing gets bashed to hell by him and the other neighbourhood kids and comes back for more. What does break is so cheap to replace, it's well worth the cost!

Yeah this is my first Traxxas. I have always read and heard how fun the Pede is but I thought the chassis was kind of a funky design. This truck is a blast to drive and yes very durable, and handles fairly well.

Hey RydeFab, what brand 3s where you running? I would love to see how fast this goes on 3s but, thats all the pack would be good for is speed runs and man they are expensive:shock:
 
The one thing that has always bugged me is the high location of the battery, and the high body mounts.
If you slam the body to the ground, and mount the battery under the chassis... it'll handle much better, and MIGHT not wheely as much or as easily. Dunno the specifics, but seen a how to on both in the past.

I just run a T4... always been an associated guy. Eventually, it'll get the M2ks so it'll have some more clearance and absorbtion.
 
Yeah I used to have XXX-T with Mashers on it. The bigger tires really transform the stadium trucks into awesome bashers that will go over anything (at high speeds), kinda like a truggy only 2wd. I saw a guy at my local track running a T4, made me want one:)
 
Ah yeah, 7.4 volts won't cut it silly. You better put on your big boy shorts and purchase a 3s lipo at least a 5000mah one too. I have a fleet of Stock Pede VXL's munchin on 11.1 volts. NOTHING has come close to this much fun. And the VXL's are only 3600's! You got the power now juice it up...fag."thumbsup"

Lets do the math silly. You run a 3600kv motor on 11.1v so your spinning your vxl motor at 39960 rpm. I'm running a 5700 on 7.4v so thats putting me around 42180. What does all that mean? I'm faster. So my "big boy" shorts are on pal. So like I said before a 3s pack would only be for speed runs, not very much usable power unless I had a couple of acres to run on.

Also fag, why the fk would you have a "fleet" of stock pede's?
 
wow yarddog35 settle down he was joking about the fag thing. i like that you hit him back with the math to show that you put some thought into it but a 11.1 with your motor would be sick!!!!! i have a 7700 big stick and a mamba max but only a 7 cell matched pack. it hauls ass but i have been told that that motor is too fast.... i dont get it, sure i will break stuff but that is RC right? i have paddles and ribs for the sand so i call it my Sand-pede.

I got a Rusty with the VXL stuff... My fav tires I have ran so far are the 30 series badlands.
everything else so far has just split into two tires rather than one

The Dirt Hawgs were brand new that day, thought I covered that in the thread but I guess you were to busy proofreading it to notice.
They dont balloon up that bad at all, truck stays stable at high speeds.

Yeah Speedyboy I have been thinking about picking up some of those 30 series they look sweet.

Oh and BigBaller ballon is not a word...fag "whoop there it is"...lol thats funny

Its all in fun, had to bust his balls back a little though. Where I come from you dont say that unless the guy is there to hear you say it, but its the internet guys get tougher behind their keyboards. Back on topic I am very tempted to get a 3s pack but I just dont think I would use it that much to justify spending $125+ for a good pack. And "too fast" is like too much fun, no such thing when it comes to basher r/c's"thumbsup" Sand-pede, awesome!

Yeah the guy at my lhs was saying they might start holding stock races for the Slash and maybe a open race soon after. Those trucks look good. Still have not seen one in person, they have had four come in and their gone in hours. Post up a vid!"thumbsup"
