BUILD: A Girl named Jenny Craig

Love those new axles on there Ed. Set-up as a roller it looks really good now!

Good luck with the beadlock rings. I talked to several wheel mfg's about it, but I think they all found it a little daunting for bl rings :D! Can't say I blame them, lots of detail work in there. One option might be to find someone willing to do the CAD work for the design, then pass that on to a wheel mfg.
 
Hmmm, I thought C.A.C. was CadtoChrome. Oh well, Yes it was Chuck at CadtoChrome who I spoke with. Ecoli, remember me talking to you about this about 7 months ago?.

Been working asking around myself and some can do a nice scaled-down version 1:1 for both wheel and beadlock ring. I understand that this will surely take much machine time and fine tooling. So now working-out a way if we can use any existing 1.9 wheel and customize the beadlock ring around this, to save on CAD Work and less machine time, lowering pricetag significantly. Anyway, glad that you like how it stands.

Sorry, my Bad. Did not realize that C.A.C. is CadToChrome. I've been communicating with Chuck, as well. He seem quite preoccupied the past months.

Yeah, It was like pulling teeth to get him to make them, even when you are willing to spend the money. I agree with the CAD work issue, once that is done then that is half the work. The other expensive part is the tooling to machine them.

I did have an idea that just might be easier. But it would involve you making a blank. Once you make one out of Delrin and a dremmel, you can have them made out of plastic or Aluminum. By either buying the kit yourself or sending it to someone like Kuatto.

CadToChrome and CAC are two completely different people. Ed has C2C products not CAC.

I'm sure you have now seen that the gears in the K44 are the same as the Black Widow axles ;-)

So OG Bruiser axle tubes are also 10mm OD?

That's what I initially thought.
"CAC" would be Create a Crawler
"CTC or C2C" is Cad To Chrome

Yes, the Tamiya OG Bruiser axles OD is 10mm, and with just pot metal we can find videos at Youtube showing how the 30 year old OG Hilux4x4 and Blazing Blazer, have the ability to hold their own.

With the superior design, material, and machining process, and the proven Black Widow XVD's and gears, I'd honestly be totally surprised if the K-44 prematurely fails. On thecontrary I expect these axles to be such a delight to wheel on the trail with the nice ground clearance of the diff housing. "thumbsup"
 
Sorry about the C.A.C. vs. C2C thing. Didn't know what I was thinking. On the issue of the axles, I just hope it'd better than pot metal.

The Acronyms can really be quite confusing for me, as well. I think the housing will be durable enough to take major bumps. Better than plastic or even pot metal, perhaps.

Just got an email from a good buddy here, who says he'll do the beadlock rings, wooohooo! "thumbsup"
 
Hey Sig, if you end up getting them rims, find out how much to do me up a set. I would love to have some.
 
Just got the NEW Hood and Panel painted-up. Still needs a lot of work to complete, hoping to get there before the end of year"thumbsup".

New hood looks great Ed. Can't wait to see it all built up. I still say go with 2.2s, but that's my personal preference :D!
