Building my first scaler

Little Update.... Some mock up pics

Well,
I am finding out that this is becoming frustratin. LOL.. I have problems with measuring so, be gentle..

I made a shell for my Bronco. OUt of some cellfoam. Next up is throwing on the epoxy and gettin it painted.. I am still working on the suspension and just how I am going to mount the body. I am gonna get it rolling and functional, then work on the interior... I think. LOL

Here are some pics that I took of my rig mocked up. Nothing is permanent. The roll cage I made, may not be making the cut. I made the back of it too wide and the shell doesnt' fit..

Thanks,

It stills needs some sanding and I need to level the sides out some. But, I am pleased with the turnout.

Thanks guys, you are right on the top, I need to round it more. You can tell alot more when it is on the rig.. "thumbsup"

Update

Well.

I don't know if anyone is viewing this, but, I figured I would update because , lol, I have nothing better to do. Except , finish this damn thing.. Which is coming soon..

Last pic is blurry, but, you get the idea..

Be finishing up the chassis and everything hopefully in the next few days.

Love those Broncos!

I'm liking the top on yours, but I went topless!

Build some sliders off of your rollcage and you can use industrial velcro to mount your body...not body posts!

The velcro is not on in this pic, but I have it on the metal panel just above the slider/ nerf bar.

Bronco is sweet looking mascman... Don't know if the rollbar/cage is making this one. I need to tweak a bit. The body /shell came out okay. Not the greatest.

I am stoked bout the headlights. Only one problem this morning. I USED TOO MUCH GLUE.. Damn glue is all in the lenses.LOL. THey look like the late 80's Bronco lenses after a while.. All cloudy and such... hahaha.

I "Liked" the coil setup too. Until now.. LOL... Seems I don't have enough support in the front for the steering to work correctly..

I tried to get the rig running today, but, no go. Steering will work, but, speed controller, notta.. I have an AI Runner speed control with a Traxxas 3 channel receiver. Using a 7.2v battery..

Instructions for the speed control state plug in the controller in channel two. Okay.. But, the only problem is that I don't have any power getting to the receiver. So. I think I am missing something. LIke an off/on switch? Usually , I have one on any r/c, a little fourpack AA battery compartment with a switch. However, I see nothing like this on the pics of the crawlers I have seen.

A little help here? lol

Success!!!!

Hey,

Thanks for the help Bronco.."thumbsup"

Switched the plug around. and BAM!!! . The rig moves. Next up, figure out my steering issue, lol.. I have searched, can't seem to find anything. I didn't search alot, watching the kid at the same time.

My whole front end moves when steering and when on the ground, barely turns going forward, turns better going backward..

Hey! That was me that helped you! I always plug them in backwards.

What ESC are you using? It may not be giving enough volts to your servo.

WHoops, sorry about that Mascman..lol.. I have the AI Runner running into a Traxxas 3-channel receiver. I think the problem is my coil setup in the front. It isn't stiff enough. I am thinking some radius arms are in order.

Gonna mess with it tonight.

Thanx again for the help all.
