So, i'm looking into buying this 1947 cj2a flat fender, has the original 4 cylinder, the seller sent me a video of it running, he says the tapping is a lifter... what do you think?

L 134 engine?
If so it has mechanical lifters that may need adjusting... I know that sounds about as foriegn as "points" and "carburetor" to most youngins'... Both of which this motor uses... LOL

Look through some YouTube vids of L134 engine... I am sure you can find out how to and how much to gap them. Do a little research on the old military vehicles forums you should be able to find just about any part you need for that motor, although they tend to run a long time even when neglected.

Yup 2a would be L head and 3b was F head if memory serves.

That's all good info for a noobie. My trucks are carb'd and I have a points distributor ready to go in them if needed so I'm absolutely familiar with all the old school parts.
