the pick up is a tamiya toyota hilux { not sure if spelled correct}
the other buggy type truck is the tamiya blazin blazer
as for the 3 speed thing that means they have three speeds lol.....
:x

They are very nice but very expensive. They were expensive when they came out in the early 80's and they are even more now. You can get one on ebay for about 1200-1500 in decent shape.

They are pretty cool.

BTW I love the Beverly Hills cop theme music.

i found one on ebay for 75 bucks it says its a kit do you think it would be forth it to build it my self

Hi Dotson, Moosey, the guy that made that video is a fellow tamiyaclub member with me. He lives just down the road. Those trucks are mostly stock 3spd although they have been modified in some cases with softer springs, IMEX Swamp Dawg tyres etc. Some have Bruiser suspension setups mounted on the early hi-lux chassis. All of them have a very nice and complicated 3 spd transmission which is switchable via a 3rd channel on your transmitter. It can run in 2WD high range, 4WD high range and 4WD low range similar to a real Hi-Lux. They are extremely scale looking vehicles but were discontinued over 20 years ago.

I seriously doubt that you'll get a genuine 3spd for $75 as they normally sell for well over £400 (UKP) in good condition. The axles alone would fetch more than £100.

Please be aware that there are several rogue traders on ebay who 'pretend' to actually have these trucks for sale but they never deliver. Make sure the guy as lots of positive feedback from lots of users before bidding.

It justs sounds extremely cheap for a genuine Tamiya 3spd to me.

discontinued over 20 years ago? I think the mountaineer was made until 1993...:?:
