Castle BEC 2.0 and TRAXXAS XL5-HV issues

I just installed a CC BEC 2.0 on my TRX-4, when I test all the servos they work fine, however when I go to power on the speed control, the green light blinks (no signal from receiver) and does not run the motor.

When I unplug the BEC and reinstall the wire (red) that the directions state to remove, power back on as if unmodified, everything works normal, besides steering being winky because power demand.

Has anyone had this issue and know what to do?

Or at least an idea of something to try? I'm not sure if having the ESC red wire installed AND the BEC installed is bad, I haven't tried it yet, any electrical guys here or someone with experience in this issue would be much appreciated.

Update:

Since I am just trying to power a steering servo I connected the black and red wires directly to the corresponding wires on the servo and kept the white wire connected to the RX, this allowed me to have forward and reverse again but now when I apply full forward throttle the servo decides to just turn to full left until throttle is released...

Interesting.

You need to connect the black wire (negative) from the BEC to the negative or ground in the receiver. So the black wire should go to the servo and also the receiver. You need the negative from the BEC and the negative to the receiver to be connected.

I will try this, I assume it's an interference thing that is causing my problems.
