Castle ESC identification

What ESC is this? It's not mine so I don't know for sure, I can't plug it in to a Link.

I have a Sidewinder Micro and a Mamba 25 and neither of them have the same look to them on the FET's or whatever you call them.

castle link would be your best bet, like you said looks like a micro SW or mamba 25 to me.

(also want to ad, whoever put the motor bullets on put the wrong ones on, females go on the ESC, thats an accedental short waiting to happen, thats like putting male deans on a battery)

I think its a Sidewinder 1/10. fred0000 has the best idea. Hook it up to a Castle Link. Let us know when you find out.

I don't have it in my hands, all I have are the pics. The FET layout is different on my Mamba 25's and Sidewinder Micro, so it must be something else?

On a sidenote, the Sidewinder Micro is the same thing as a Mamba 25?

Its gotta be a Sidewinder 1/10. The more I look at the pic the more it looks like one. The white wire has been cut off. The motor wires are opposite of the power and signal wires. Its flat where a heat sink would sit.

gotta be a SWM or Mamba25, not many other brushless ESC's support brushed motors, especialy in that size, could be a diferent revision.
(also that heatshrink looks like factory castle, i'm aware how easy to re-shrink wrap an ESC is, just another observation)

yes mamba25 and sidewinder micro are the same.

I have 2 in my XR, i'll go get it it and see if the stickers come off, one ESC was used so who knows how old it is and the other I bought new.

mine are the same, other then the green of the PCB, neither of mine are the same as yours.

(pics hard to make out, but there are no banks of FETS on the top like yours)

also from what I remember (my ESC's are glued down) the red wire doesnt solder on the board where yours does, it passes through that hole and solders somewhere central on the board

I belive the ESC you have pictured is a castle phoenix 25a (aiplane ESC, wont have reverse)
no guarantee's castle link seems like the only sure way. based on what i've seen I wouldn't take someones word that it is what they claim it to be.

this is a phoenix 45, but the huge banks of FETS screams aircraft ESC.

I would NOT buy this ESC for a crawler if it is in fact a Phoenix-25.

Triple6, i think it is indeed a mamba 25 after they switched to bigger fet to handle 30 amps, i had someone from castle tech tell me this when i was asking around for their specs, he also had a pic to show me, i'll look around if i still have this e-mail.

It's the old Mamba25, probably first generation. I used to have one before we ended up with Tekin hehe

The newer ones have less FETs than the old ones.
