Classic Video Games

You can replace the batterys in the games, I used to have to slam my fist into my old nes, worked everytime.

Glad to know there are some others out there that still enjoy the good games. Anyone else play virtual console games on the Wii? I think they are a pretty good substitute to the original. It saves me from having to drag out consoles all the time. Now I just need to build adapters to use original controllers, thats a project for the summer. Oh, here is my MAME cabinet in case anyone cares. It has an LED controller so that the buttons light up to show you which ones are used in a particular game. I still need some control panel artwork

Now what do you mean by "older" video games? I have been playing video games for a LOOOOONG time. I actually had PONG when it first came out so that might give you and idea. I have a stand up Pacman, stand up Donkey Kong and a Stand up Punch-Out arcade game and my personal all time favorite is the OG Donkey Kong. Im like you though, I have an xbox 360 (two actually) and two standard xboxs,ps1, nintendo,colecovision,atari2600 etc, etc. Lately (past 8 or so years) I have been a Halo addict, starting from the original halo and playing every single version online up too halo reach still today. SO is that "OLDER" enough for you? :ror:

Stand up Punch Out...JEALOUS!! Just out of curiosity, what's your address?

No way man, that's an original arcade monitor running at 15khz. It needs a cap job though. I don't really like the look of an LCD, even with filters to make it look older I would still rather have the original thing. One of these days when I actually have a game room I'll upgrade to a nice 25" or so monitor.

that's the two-player version "thumbsup"

IIRC, almost every game Konami produced... I've even heard (unconfirmed) rumors of a modern version of the Konami Kode in some next-gen (xb360/ps3) games.
in the new hard corps you can enter it to unlock classic contra music.i had to test it out.
also the power went out the other day and i thought i was eaten by a grue.

Nicely done Illeagle, ironically I have a Nintendo Vs. System inside a converted pacman cabinet. It's really a shame though that some idiot would paint the sides of the pacman gray and slap some lame Nintendo Vs. stickers on it.

Zaxxon anyone? One of the first stand ups I ever played. Probably dumped a couple hundred into Street Fighter in middle school.
