Date has been changed to this Sunday. The 22nd, start time 10am!

Alright, time to start the new year off right.
Second annual Cold Cajun Crawler Party is happening at my place in Youngsville, LA on January 22nd, comp starts at 10AM. Party will go on however long your rigs last. I do have lights in the rock garden."thumbsup"

Will be serving pulled pork for a late lunch, we can start a list of who's bringing what a little later once we know who/how many are coming. I'll supply the meat.

We will be comping the 2.2's for sure, probably 5 10-gate courses, then a nasty finals between the top 3. Winner gets a custom metal plaque. I'll post up the design later. We can all put up some cash too if you are into that.
If we have enough minis, we can comp them also. Mine is down for the foreseeable future.
We can throw some Sportsman courses in there as well.

After the comp, freecrawl until your happy or broken, or both.

My friends and I have started rock racing over here too, tons of fun if you're not worried about damage. We typically set a course that winds through the valleys in the garden, then slalom out through the trees jumping their roots and back. 20 second staggered starts, stay on course and time is all that counts. Nerfing is not only allowed but encouraged. Just work out the passes among yourselves.

Here's a link to the rock garden build thread, head to the end of it to see how it stands now: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/general-crawlers/227267-shelljeeps-rock-garden.html
Here's a link to some videos of it, may help you get a better feel for it than the pictures: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/videos/290307-shelljeeps-rock-garden-video-thread.html

Here's what will be added by then, 3.5 more tons of 120 pound class riprap.

Man, the automatic title formatter thingy is pretty lame.
It's supposed to read CCCPII. Not "chchippys". LOL:mrgreen:
Guess I'll shoot a PM to the mod and see if he can help.

Well, sorry man, that sucks.
I picked that weekend because several offshore guys down here could make it. Schedules are hard to work around.

Sounds great, gonna be a good time!
Rehabbed the smoker yesterday, changed the seals, adjusted the hinges etc. Good to go!

I think I can make this and it sounds like a lot of fun. Are there any rules for the 2.2 comp other than based from 2.2 wheels?

Thanks,
Ryan

Got a little of it placed today. Pics don't show much, looks bigger in person. Or maybe it just feels that way to me since I'm the one with a sore back. LOL

Forgot to mention we can run Sportsman courses also. You can run them in your pro car if you don't use dig. Will update the first post.

Thanks Shell, I don't know why I couldn't find those. This is just the push I need to finally finish this thing. I built the axles myself and they can run 2.2 or 3.2 wheels. I'm not a fan of MOA so this is a shaft driven rig. I'm working on the chassis right now, but I still need to pick a transmission. I have an emaxx trans I mod'd to mount the motor(s) really low and it would probably work well for Rock Racing, but it's a bit heavy for a crawler. I'm going to pick up a combo from Holmes Hobbys for ESC/Motor I believe so I may run the maxx trans at first to save cash or a Nitro Stampede Trans with a electric motor plate I have.

How far are you from baton rouge, I'm about to start a rock garden inspired by yours"thumbsup"

I just bought my first crawler a week ago, but don't really have a place to crawl..so why not just build one..lol

That's not that far in the grand scheme of things, I'm about a mile from LSU may.be not even that far.. I called for prices on flash stone and river rocks today. It be awesome if I can find some laying song some where and get some of the riprap.you spot looks awesome by the way

Losi comp crawler, stock so far. 7 Oz weight in front wheels ,3 Oz in the rear.
Right now its running on my old gear a Novak duster 2 esc and an Orion 15 turn on a 5000mah 2s lipo (that's new)

Trying to decide on the new motor, I'm going to take my sidewinder esc out of my race SC 4x4 and probably throw in a ballistic 17.5 or 18.5. I'm going to order another receiver for my 3pm-x so I can add a dig. I've only had it a week as of today.

If its an open invite and the weather is good I'll make the drive if I need to bring something let me know. as of I'm free that weekend.
