complete noob to lcc

I think for now I'm gonna take to non hobbiest way and just buy one down the road. I think if jake (when he was with losi) can kick ass with that stock chassis, it'll be good enough for me to learn how the lcc works.

What would be a good brushless setup? I know the mamba max and what not are good but very bulky and the tekin rs esc's are like $200+ dollars but very smooth. I want to run a redline motor, prolly 13.5t but not sure on the esc (no novak).

MMP or Tekin RS. Only ones i'd consider. You can pick up a tekin rs for $125 over on rctech. You just have to watch the 4sale ads quickly. as cheap rs's come and go fast over there.

I'm not a fan of buying used electronics. If I can't test it I don't buy it (used electronics that is). My buddy has a rs and its smooth. I have a mmp in my swx chassis.

I might just do another mmp since they are almost $75 cheaper and I already have the castle link and feild programer.

My girl is gettin me the lcc for christmas (enough hastling, she fianlly told me haha)

novak isn't even in my vocab anymore haha. I had a rooster back in the day and it glitched all the time, reseting it everyday and 2 months later it kicked the bucket. Worst $80 I ever spent. I've ran a fxr which is great (if the lcc would like brushed), I run a mmp in my swx and its nice. Even the ae-2 (sidewinder) is better then novak haha imo. Id really like to run a tekin rs but I'm not really wanting to fork $175+ on just an esc. After I get my lcc ill see better on what my options are (imo) and see where good placement is. A lot of people around my area try and shove everything up front but they lose some of their balance. Yes imo, having more front weight is what you want but keeping the esc on the back axle isn't that bad imo. I've seen rigs with 15oz up front and 4oz in the rear . To me, that's way to much front bias. But hey, I'm no pro lol just a hobbiest "thumbsup".

Since you guys already know I'm a noob to lcc, does it have torque twist? I went out with my swx (ax10) and man it has it bad. I've tryed so many different things. I have a good amount of weight in the front tires. Batter/servo on the front axle. Stiffer spring on the right left shock and it still as it bad . I even have 50wt oil in the shock and the front right still picks up bad.

if you have torque twist on a losi, you have damaged something....only time mine had a hint is when a bearing bought the farm.

I have to say, that's a huge selling point. Also my motor needs alittle love so my drag brake wasn't really doin any good. Got to say, it was a purty shatty session.

If you guys could explain what to look for when the worm starts to bind that would be great. "thumbsup"

when the motor starts to complain, look for the bound axle. then, let off a bit and put power to the unbound axle. at least that's the way i do it...."worm stall" is just a fancy term for all of the tires getting entirely too much traction.

So the worms don't like 100% traction?

Lets just say... These axles hook up too good.

Lol well that's good. Ill just have to learn to work the dig good to over come any binds.
Man I can't wait to get a lcc. Don't get me wrong, I love my swx (ax10) but man, I've had to dump soooo much money into it just to get it a "decent" shafty. I really don't want to have to go moa to get a better crawler.
