I use these-worlds better than the stock stuff. As for the driveshafts to the output shafts you have to get lockouts such as the HR straightaxles lockouts for rear and there is no longer a bolt on cvd for the fronts. Search for people here on the forum that have modded losi cvds to fit. (much modding). They are bulletproof with a little determination.

I have been running a Crawler King for 6 mos and it has proven to be very durable and a good 4x4, I run it over embankments, rocks, and thru mud and water , the motor does not stop til the battery dies. I waterproofed the receiver and esc w silicone and water has not effected it . A good buy

Mine used to eat ring and pinion gears, but strangely I've never broken an axle, even when running Maxx or Clod tires. Assume they are breaking the ball off the ends? I have a few spares laying around just in case, but so far I haven't needed them.

There are axle mods out there: these might help:
XVD Axle for HPI Wheely King
HPI Wheely King Straight Axle Adapter Kit

EDIT: just saw the OG post date...lol! NEVERMIND
