DIRECT fit brushed motor for Pro?

The losi mini crawler motor...sportwerks motors, reedy stump puller, misc. reedy mini mod motors, and a few more, but im not sure if they require work to the motor like the losi slider motor that needs the shaft sanded/ground down with a dremel to accept a mini-t pinion.
 
Losi part no. LOSB1216. It's the RX-280 Mini Slider motor, has great speed, torque, and drag brake, all for around $17 shipped. I put one in my daughter's rig, and it works great; it's a bit noisy for a bearinged motor, and drains the batteries faster, but for the price it's darn good IMO. I don't know if the noise and lower run times are normal for this motor or not, I have another one I am going to put in when I have time and see if it's better.

Yeah, I forgot about that, but it's a minor issue, just smoothing off the burrs is really all it takes.
 
I'll second that on the mini slider motor. Have been in a few comps locally with it and have not found anything yet it couldn't handle.Yes, the Broods, Anarchy, Holmes ,and reedy motors are more powerful and faster. But for the buck, it really is hard to beat! mine was geared with stock spur and a 10 pinion. When I went to a 62 spur, its gutsy-er yet! And I'm on 2s too.
 
I drilled out the pinion to the next size larger bit and it went on with very little hand force. That way I kept the grooves on the shaft for holding power. LOL, I blew all the teeth in my tranny, but my pinion never slipped........

I would say it was a little noisy, but no noisier than the Insane that's in there now. I run 725mah packs, so I would run all 3 courses with the same pack. And then play a little afterwards before it ran to the LVC. I think especially with the 62 spur it took a load off the motor in normal comp conditions which lowers current draw, but even before I did that I was completing all 3 courses, so...?

I guess you could, but thats one of the reasons I decided to drill out the gear instead of the shaft. The spinning motor has a tendency to pull in air for cooling. Which means metal filings and sand will tend to get pulled into the motor when running. No thanks. Granted, dirt can get sucked in too when running normally. still, not as abrasive and metal and sand.....Thats just how my head works, right or wrong,lol

I had heard/read that 370/380 motors did not fit the Pro motor plate screw pattern...

hmmmmm is there a better way to remove them? like... temporarily cover the inlets and run it in very very very (did i mention very?) short bursts?

Hey i just killed my Mini Torquemaster and am now searching for a cheap but good alternative.
I was thinking about:
the LOSB 0839 MRC original motor,
the LOSB 1216 RX-280 Mini Slider motor,
the LOSB 1218 Mini Sprint or
the LOSB 0837 Insane 370 motor.

I want a good brake enough torque low speed and highspeed too.
I want to drive this setting with the Tekin FX-R and 2S or 3S.

What are the pros and the cons for these?
Has anyone some experience?

Or are there other cheap possibilities I didn´t found yet?

The losi insane 370 fits as a bolt on. Great motor with lost of wheelspeed and torque.
The dragbrake is also really good. The losi insane fits fine on the stock motorplate but you need to flip the pinion around. (put on backwards)
I like my sidewinder micro and insane 370 combo very much.
On 3s this combo will shred axles and gears so be carefull.

If you purchase the Mini-T big block motor plate, then 370 motors bolt right up. That being said, I am having very good performance with a Promax Cobalt 370 motor. These can be had for $20 .

I like the 3745 unit, and am running that on 3s. I ALSO HAVE THE 3726 in case I want to switch and run 2s.

I also just picked up a small Hyperion brushless in runner 370 size to try thru all eRC.

None of these motors require shaft grinding or pinion drilling...and they all are available at a fair cost.

Which gearing should be used on 2S / 3S?
Is it as big as the Torquemaster? Size matters in the MRC, right

Looks good but wherefrom did you get the 62T spur gear?
Do you have a part no.?
Which pinion gears do fit?
Do you have a part no. for the 10T too ?
