Documentaries

I'm also a documentary fan, A good website a friend turned me on to is http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/

1500+ documentaries on the site (which are free) and they run a huge array of topics, from the rational to the outright Looney. They also have a pretty good description and commentary section, so you have a pretty good idea what your getting into before you start watching. (saves you from having to sit through a bunch of Zeitgeist or Scientology garbage.)

Err... I take these with a grain of salt for the most part. You have to realize they are pushing a POV.

What I did like, was the talk about the farmers and seeds... That shit upsets me.

Exactly, I have to remember these are still "films" and a lot of time what is "presented" has little/nothing to do with reality. ( Like Micheal Moore. )

I know what you mean about the seeds,Forget big oil, Monsanto is the one really pulling the strings.

I'm watching Wild and wonderful whites of west virginia right now. I like Hank3 a lot and this gives some information in regards to some of his lyrics. However, man these people are f'd up.

I watch them all with an open mind and look at the facts as they are presented. However, I dont nessessarily take every word spoken as truth.

Ive seen some stuff that seems pretty undisputed just as Ive seen stuff that I have questions about.

Either way I dont redicule a movie just because people involved in the making may hold a particular political view. Most all docs have an agenda, whether it be simply making money, exposing, informing, influencing, etc. The interesting thing about docs to me is that instead of just hearing someone say this or that, or reading that someone said this or that, its actually backed up with visuals. For example, saying that XYZ happens in the food industry is one thing. Actually going in and filming it kind of removes any doubt.

There are still ways to film and edit information to sway the facts. I still watch documentaries with the mindset that they are for entertainment purposes and, whether the director likes it or not, will be biased toward their opinion. That doesnt mean that I dont watch them though....

Dismissing a conspiracy theory by calling it a conspiracy?:)

What Are Dreams was good, Science of Dogs was interesting, and How The Brain Works was fascinating albeit a little scary how little we really know about it.

The Union was good. Nothing I didnt already know, except that Rogan was pro. Off to bed now.

Duuude feel free to carry on with the religious babble while Im gone. Maybe switch it up a little though this time instead of concentrating on christianity. If youre going to ponder irrelevance at least show a little variety. :)
