Does the tranny come properly greased?

I noticed a suprising lack of grease in my axles when doing some upgrading. I am wondering if the tranny and transfer case on these rigs comes well greased, or if I need to crack it open. I would rather not spend the time taking it apart if it doesn't need greasing.

Also, can anyone recommend a good grease for the tranny and axles? I used red lithium high temp brake caliper grease on my old rig (just had it on hand.

In my experiences nothing comes properly greased.

I use regular synthetic grease that I use on my 1:1. Works great for me. I don't know if it matters on the type of grease? Just as long as your using something to keep it lubed....

Well... I opened up both trans and transfer cases on both of my Bombers and was not surprised at the lack of grease. It's never a bad idea to open up an RTR trans to check gears (especially when but not exclusively when running big brushless power). IMO, not only is it good to just check but gives me some wrench time to learn more about the truck (mainly because it's a new platform). Just my .02... As far as grease, I've been a supporter of Fast Eddy's products for years. His grease has never let me down.

When I did the 2-speed install, there was minimal (white lith.?) in there.. Cleaned it up and used molybdenum with a touch of teflon. No issues since, with plenty of 1-2 up shifts on the fly.
