Dready's RC4WD Gelande 2 Build

So what to do for a Driver?
Well Clarkson is 6ft 5 so going on my maths of this Body being 1/8.3th scale
I was looking for a Driver that is 9.2 inches tall.

I came up with this which is almost right and looks vaguely 'Clarkson Esque'.
Hands are already in a Good position for Steering, I'll repaint his shirt and do some modifications on his flares!

Progress has been made.
I didn't like the one piece all red lenses supplied with the bodyshell so I made my own new ones that look alot more rangey looking.
Number plate is on as is the rear bumper.
Gaffa Tape Holding the left one on of course.

Hi,
at first i hate what are you doing to the beautifull Range body, but i love Top Gear and the Bolivia series and your build is so cool. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Go on,cant wait to see him ready.
Cheers

Back on this after a little break.
I've managed to get the front part of the interior nearly done.
2 Rotten old seats with headrests, carpet on the trans tunnel, door trims, shifter and a few other nik naks.

New Wheels arrived 10 Hole RC4WD Pro 10's I had to modify the Vanquish Steering Knuckles but a file job bit of cutting and some Ali Wraith bits bolted on wasn't a real drama.

Donkey Time.

Got the Driveline in, only thing I could find in the parts bin was an R3 2 Speed which wasn't going to fit so out came my Hammers and I clocked the Motor mounting plate round the other way.Bit of filing on the case well alot to be honest!
Not adding a shift servo as this isn't really a serious offroader, one gear will surfice.

I Joined that to an Old Disruptor transfer case which was nearly the right width a couple of spacers sorted out the difference. Joined the 2 together with a shortened TF2 Driveshaft.

The Diff exploded in the program so I suppose to be a replica mine had to be Front Wheel drive as well. Removed the Diff Gear and Output, put in some bigger bearings over the small ones and re-assembled.
I now have a fully open rear axle
IMG_4638_zps52cf2a87.jpg

Floorpan and Bulkhead are reasonably Toyotaish good enough for me.

Did under the Bonnet as well not that you'll ever see it!
IMG_4640_zpsfadb427b.jpg

I then got bored of doing the external Bodywork so I attacked the inside and a bit of the outside with my airbrush so I can crack on mounting some seats and a dash. Colours about right I can attend to the rest later on.
