Been getting out with Dudley quite a bit lately. This time Dudley hit up Lil Moab with a group of friends for a day of play. Lil Moab is one of the most popular spots for the local crawling crowd. Dudley ran without any hick ups through out the day. We ran through a couple of the washes on the outskirts of the Lil Moab area, along with some hard crawling on the main rocks.

Dudley ran a total of 2.3 miles through out the day and had a blast running with friends.

Dudleys first real trail run of 2015!! This time out we hit up Bell Canyon. We choose Bell Canyon because it is close to home and it's lower elevation meant less chance of running into snow up the trail. We've done this trail before and it's a pretty popular one because of the reasons above.

We hit the trail with a couple of friends. R/C'n is always better with someone to share the adventure. We made good progress and were able to make it to the waterfall just as the sun went down, and made the trip down in the dark. I haven't fixed the rock sliders yet so Dudley had to rely on his friends (and my head lamp) for lighting.

On our trip down, I thought the front ring and pinion finally let go, as Dudley lost front wheel drive. But upon further inspection one of the set-pins had just fallen out. A quick trail repair had Dudley back in action, without any parts needing to be replaced.

Dudley logged a total of 5.1 miles on the trail.

Along the way up the trail you can see a couple of rocks with patterns of holes or grooves. These were rocks that the Mormons used to build the Salt Lake temple.

What are your future lighting plans, fix and leave as is or?

I have already fixed the Rock Sliders and re-installed the lights on them. I plan to fix the headlights in the near future, but no Tail lights due to body damage :twisted:

I'm debating on installing a VP light bar. But trying to keep Dudley as low cost as possible is tough when the name "Vanquish" is involved.
So I might just add LEDs to the existing stock light bar. :???:

What set pin fell out? WB8 screw pin or?

It was the set-pin that holds the driveshaft to the transmission output shaft.

MOAB!!

That's right Dudley made the trip to Moab for the "Bump 'n Dance" G6 hosted by Recon at Area BFE.

This was quite a treat for Dudley, not only was this his first time in Moab, but also his first "official" Recon G6. This was a two part event with a day stage and a night stage. The course covered a wide verity of terrain, from general trail running, flexed out crawling, steep climbs, and an incredibly gnarly silt hill, along with the usual navigation challenges.

During the event Dudley logged 2.2 miles of driving and no breakage.

Like I said earlier, the silt was insane!! this section saw a few rigs go down due to packing motors full of the stuff.






But that didn't stop J-rad and I from doing some drag racing through it.

WEROCK was also at Area BFE for a Dirt Riot Race that week too. I didn't get many pics, but figured I'd share the ones I got.

Getting in another run.

Dudley and a few friends hit Bell Canyon again. Yeah I know we've done this one a few times already, but it's close and it's lower elevation make it one of the few trails that isn't covered in snow still. Don't worry we'll be getting in some new locations shortly.

I guess I don't need to give any trail info as we've ran this one a bunch so I'll just get straight to the pics.

Dudley logged 4.8 miles this time out with no issues at all.

Goal Accomplished!!! Once at the Waterfall We always take a while to soak in the surrounding beauty of this awesome place. Although we've done this trail many times it's always great to take in the views and enjoy the gifts that only Mother Nature can provide.

Dudley hitting some trails out of state!!
Had to go to Vegas for work, but I brought Dudley along and made a stop by Valley of Fire on our way home.

Valley of Fire is about 50 miles north east of Las Vegas just off I15. This Nevada state park is loaded full of Petroglyphs and some of the most beautiful red rock I've ever seen. Native Americans also believed that this place was magical and considered the area sacred.

I'd really like to go back and spend a couple days camping and explore more of the park. The pics do this place no justice, you really have to see this place for your self.

We only had a few hours to kill so we didn't get in a ton of drive time, but we were able to get in a good hike before hitting the road home.

Dudley logged 1.3 miles of distance without any issues.

Once we reached the trail destination we took a few moments to enjoy one of the most beautiful places I've taken Dudley (I'm a sucker for the desert and red rock)














After our hike we spent another hour or so driving around the park enjoying the sites and views from road side.

As the title of this thread reads, Dudley is all about adventure and many of you know that the ultimate scale adventure is the legendary event, Axialfest, hosted by Recon. Axailfest is truly the most epic Scale event around and what better place to start logging drive time. I was running in the 2.2 Ultra class so Dudley didn't hit the trails till Sunday morning for the Sunday Fun Run. I wasn't going to take it easy on Dudley though, we ran about half of one of the G6 trails before detouring off for some good rock down by the river. Of course with water near by and Dudley being equipped with a waterproof ESC, I made sure to test just how water proof Dudley is. So we spent a good amount of time splashing round in the river. I logged 2 full packs and 4 hours of drive time on Dudleys maiden run. As for carnage there was none to report. Dudley ran flawlessly through the 2 packs. So No wrench time yet "thumbsup"

I also would like to say that this rig performed far above my expectations for a stock rig. In fact Dudley out performed some pretty heavily modified 1.9's on more than 1 line through out the run

Thanks everyone for the kind words and encouragement. It has been a ton of fun doing this thread. Not only have I never used an R/C like this, but Dudley has got me out into nature and to some places that I never would've visited had it not been for this amazing little rig. Your posts and comments keep me excited about the upcoming adventures with Dudley. So a big thanks goes out to Dudleys fans.

Getting out again, this time we hit a new trail

"Jacobs Ladder Trail" up Corner Canyon in Draper Ut. This trail was very easy for the first mile. I'm not sure if it gets tougher further up, as a broken motor wire had me carrying Dudley back down to the car. But at least it was an easy free repair. Before the wire broke we did deviate from the trail a bit to play in a dry stream bed in search of some tougher terrain.

We'll have to come back and see just how far up the trail actually goes.

Dudley logged just 1.1 miles of distance before a broken motor wire ended our run.
