is anyone thats using these batteries charging them with a balance charger, i have a dynamite charger for my larger lipo's but these batteries not having a balance plug has me confused, would i have to use the small wall charger for these? or do i need to find similar sized batts with the balance plug. my attraction to these was that they already have the losi micro plug. just one less modification i have to make.

It is definitely a 2 cell.

People have added balance plugs to these themselves. I would recommend not buying it, if you haven't already. It is very expensive for what you get, and since the Esc has a lipo
cutoff you don't really get any advantage from the on board circuitry.

awrite, thats what i figured. guess ill just keep huntin around an find somethin else, then get a different end. ive got one losi micro male end already from a set i bought awhile back. simple enough to cut an swap. just tends to become a PITA mixing an matching charge plug adapters, and balance plug adapters.... etc

Junk the Losi plugs and get Micro Deans. Better in every way.

And my bad on saying it was a 1S. Guess I shoulda looked online before opening my big mouth.

Quick safety trick:

When you're cutting and soldering on the new battery end, only cut and solder one end at a time. This way you won't leave both wire ends exposed at the same time. The risk is that you accidentally let go of one of the wires, they spring back and tap each other, causing a short.

Obviously, i have done this. Nothing bad happened, but if i wasnt paying attention i could have damaged a cell or two.

good advice, i was well aware of the dangers there. i deal with 12 and 24 volt systems regularly. but can never stress safety enough

yeah i know, but i already have the losi plug. just less parts to order. but ill have to get a charge and probably balance adapter anyway. oh why cant the world just be universal lol

D'oh :???: just realised my charger wouldnt work on these lil fellas anyway. 1C is its lowest charge rate. so no matter which route i go i gotta get a charger. any suggestions?

Thats as low as ever posible is 1 cell. That battery is 2 cell. 1 cell woul be 3.7 volts

my apologies, my charger only goes down to 1 AMP, a 1c charge rating on a 180 mah battery would be .18 amps. but im also wanting to go lipo in my mini, say a 6-800 Mah, so i ask again, lol any suggestions.

You could try searching... this is asked many many times and there are multiple threads with suggestions.
Ive already posted a few times about the great bang for buck micro lipos at valuehobby and the hobby king eco 6 which is the same as the turnigy accucel 6

here is some spoon feeding http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/losi-micro-rock-crawler/212840-post-your-battery-finds-here.html

for what its worth again the cheapest lipos in the USA after shipping are value hobby and if you are lucky enough to find them in stock also hobbyking from a USA warehouse. just make sure its a USA warehouse or it will take forever to get to you

yeah ive read it. thats what started this thread, was confused about a 2s lipo without a balance plug. an how people were charging them. whether it was with the charger they come with, or something different. but that lil wall charger wouldnt do the larger lipo's i wanna run in other things, so im trying to find a charger that will do everything from .1 amp up to about 5. with and without balance. if thats even available. god knows ive got enough shit layin around without havin to use 3 different chargers. and thank you for the feedback, the accucell looks like it would work well. im kinna disappointed i paid close to 60 bucks for the one i have, thats doesnt have as many features. guess thats live an learn eh.

I own a turnigy accucel 6 and it's a very good charger.
It does the job perfectly. Can charge up to 6A/6S and takes Lipo/NiMH/NiCd/Lead Acid balanced or unbalanced and the price is really interesting.
At full charge, the sound can be annoying, my girlfriend panics each time it rings :ror: sounds like a fire alarm.
It needs a power supply, I use one from an old western digital external hard drive.
And yeah, I took it from Hobbyking (obviously backordered atm) with some zippy 350mah 2s and it took forever to come but it was worth the wait.
Be prepared to get some deans micro for your lipos and to make a charging wire like this:

For a cheap power supply I recommend an old modded PC power supply. They can be had cheap or free, as well as the needed supplies. They are also plenty powerfull with amperage to spare. When I built mine the only cost was the terminals & jacks but I could have just as easily used my spare deans plugs from my 1/10s.
Definetly don't get the hobbyking laptop style power supplies, they seem to die quickly. There is a how-to sticky in the electronics section. You could probably build it in 30 min or less if you have read through it first and are organized
