I've search and asked friends many times before trying to find an easy way of copying and storing my music on my itouch to iTunes but never any luck. I know music you purchase does but music you haven't, you never can. Maybe someone knows a program or something that allows me to put all my music on to iTunes because my itouch has needed an update but I haven't done it because the last time I did, all the music I put on disappeared because it wasn't purchased music so it didn't get stored in the iTunes cloud

If the music was not purchased, how did it get on the iPod touch in the first place?

You *may* be able to look at the Touch as a drive, and then copy the files over, but this is not always possible.

i use mp3rocket as a song/video downloader..
it saves them as itunes or whatever file type you want.

only catch is it only downloads via youtube..
so if it aint on youtube you cant download it.

i dont have an ipod so i cant comment on that part.

Because I've gotten my music from friends computers and my old laptop which we uploaded music from CDs to iTunes but my current laptop has no cd drive so I can't just reburn them and put them back on to my itouch after its been updated. That's why I'm trying to see if anyone knows a download or program that allows to transfer all my music from my itouch to a laptop

Can't do it without this.

I used to use senuti.com, but it seems like it's no longer available. I refuse to re-purchase music that I already own on a CD just to get itunes 'approval' to keep it in my library.

Heh.... Kinda sucks when their system actually works and makes it hard to run bootlegged music through a system that is set up for only paid items.:lmao:

Either way... Once it is on there it shouldn't disappear if you Sync the device with iTunes before the download. If it wipes it clean during the download, just go back to your iTunes account and reload the saved music from when it SYNC'd.

have you tried this one?

not boot legging, all the music on my itouch are from CDs I've bought and music from friends that have their CDs. but the problem I'm having is this laptop, I've never used it for itunes because I always figured my Itouch did just fine, but with my Itouch informing me that I have a update, i want to update it. the issue im having is since this laptop has no cd drive i cant reburn all those CDs and I've tried to sync my itouch with other computers but it never takes all the music, only the ones I've purchased from itunes. plus its got the newest itunes versions and since my i touch isn't up to date, they wont sync up lol

Umm..yes, that is bootlegging;-)

Never really saw it as that, if it was, then a lot of us crawlers are found guilty because a friend or fellow crawler gave us a part that we broke or lost on a trail and they gave it to us to keep and use........ Bootlegging: "To produce, DISTRIBUTE, or sell without permission or illegally" my friends gave me those CDs to keep and use for my own use, it's the same as if your friend gave you a axial knuckle for you to use because you either didn't have one or broke one.

What you could do is take the music on the laptop that you originally had the music on, put it on a flash drive (or hard drive) and copy the music over that way. You can also transfer the iTunes library by going to File menu and exporting your library. That will create a file, copy and paste it to the new computer, then when you have all the music on the new computer Import the library file and it should rebuild your library exactly the same.

Or how bout this? Is the iTunes account on the first laptop yours? If it is you can set up iTunes on your new computer, set up home sharing on both computers and on the new computer you can "look" at the library on the other computer and transfer all the songs not on the new computer from the old computer.

Drag mp3 files from whatever folder you have them in and copy them to your itunes library. That's how I put my cd's and such on my iphone/Ipod. As long as it's an MP3 file and you have a copy of it, you can put it in your library. After it's in your library you can sync it with your Ipod. They did that so that you can copy music from a cd you own to your computer and then to your Ipod saving you from having to buy it twice. "thumbsup" Hope that helps. -Oz

Just drag and drop, I have done this for a billion years for all my music that I "transferred from my cd's" (yeah right). And what someone else said, gotta be in manual mode, don't want apple controlling all of my life.............Hey, why is there black heliocopters overhead and a van full of guys outside my house?

Ideally, the music label wants everyone to purchase everything, always. That's their business, that's their lifeblood. Then of course the musician wants everyone to buy everything always also, because that's how they get paid, per CD sales (or store purchased digital downloads). If one person bought some band's CD, only one, then made friends with everyone else in the world via Facebook and file sharing and leant out that one CD to listen to, be it on a CD player or computer or iPod et al., the music label and band only get a couple bucks (if that), one time.

Right?

Axial gets paid every time a person breaks/needs a knuckle (assuming stock replacements). Unless of course it's aftermarket. Axial gets nothing for that. Just like a music label gets nothing from someone ripping a CD. I can put some money back into the whole thing by using CD-Rs, but still music label gets no money. Or, like breaking the Axial knuckle I break the CD and want it again.

See where I'm going with all this? Hope so, I'm tired of typing.

There's an honor system in place and no one cares. It's cause people are crap.

That's a good way to break it down Eeepee and explain it8)
People have gotten so used to stealing music and not even realize what they are doing(or they do and don't care) that what should have been a common sense thing not to do, has become the norm and accepted by a lot of folks:shock::x

Demonoid, totally different situation than giving someone a spare part, there aren't laws governing that like there is on music piracy ;-)
