Got an e-mail from ebay saying everyone needs to reset their password because they had a breech or something, but when comparing the e-mail to another ebay e-mail I had, they didn't match so I figured it was a scam, but I just went on ebay and they have a banner saying to reset your password, anyone else get the e-mail and know if it's legit or not?

Did some research and it is legit, they were hacked and all millions of account info was stolen, so I changed my password Lol

The security breech happened a couple months ago...they just recently figured out what the hackers were after.

The real problem here isn't the unauthorized access to your eBay or PayPal account. The hackers gained access to a computer database that held the names, email addresses, street addresses, phone numbers and dates of birth of the eBay users.

This is the type of information that you need to steal someones identity and to be able to open credit accounts in their name.

It's legit that they were hacked, but that still doesn't mean the email you received was legit.

Never follow a link you receive in an email...always go to the site on your own to make the changes.

we have a main household email when we first got a PC and online back in 1999, then we both have our own yahoo email....if I get anything flea bay or PP since they same owners in our yahoo email, well it did not come from them....if we get email in household email, then we go to there web site and see what message is there if any "thumbsup" ....

They would be really disappointed if they stole my identity to open lines of credit with.

I have a hunch that china is behind hacking ebay. There are so many customers world wide and china makes a huge amount of money through ebay selling its goods to foreign buyers. The hackers will know the buying habits of each individual and they will know contact information to these buyers. I feel china will bring up a new business website just like ebay in few years and market it to the already ebay members.

First the stealing of military files and now this!! people need to wake up before its too late!!

china's setting themselves up for world domination...

i was at the supermarket the other day in the produce isle, eyin a big container of pre-peeled garlic, mother****ing made in china.

everybody be learning spanish when they should be learning chinese.
