ECX Barrage upgrades

WPL aluminum driveshafts fit it nicely, I just added those to my 1/24 Fat Girl Sand Racer. I originally intended to use them on the WPL C14 but after getting them I realized they are an exact replica of Sumo crawler driveshafts which means they work with most 1/24 micros. They are also super cheap so win win. I just posted a video of the sand racer today on my youtube account if you want to see them at work ;).

Do you mean those of the 1/16 WPL truck?

Yep. They seem a little long after measuring what I’ve got but I have 2 sets on the slow boat. Hopefully the female side is slotted all the way.

Thanks for the info.

Looking at the photos, the bore exits into the spider holder, therefore these should be straight forward to shorten manually.

I finally got my 1.0 Super Swamper tires dirty. They wake up the Barrage tremendously. Plus the wider offset Mickey Thompson Classic IIs from Shapeways. The first time a wheel bound up it popped a U joint though.

It made it all the way and could do more if I’d add some more weight to the tires or front of the chassis.

Was it the plastic one that broke today or Wpl aluminum?

I'm a little concerned but I know my 1cell lipo can't break plastic lol.

The plastic one. The aluminum driveshafts need to be cut down a little to fit and I just haven’t made the time for that yet.

Sweet, RGT Swampers? Time to find out if the WPL aluminum driveshafts will fit. :)

Not the RGT tires but the RC4WD ones. They finally had a batch come out and I ordered a set.

I think the Al driveshafts may add some weight down low too! I just really dont like seeing broken joints on the micro Barrages and a few people have done it already. Those little plastic pins suck!

They pop in as easy as the pop out though. But I’ve ended up having to unscrew the tranny to get at the u joint to pop it back in.

It's probably the u opening up when torque is applied? That's a PITA. If you saw my 1/24 barrage video, the truck is so underpowered like a real 22R but crawls slow enough though! Im planning on taking it out this weekend, it got a little dusty from the shelf

Definitely trigger happy. I’ll get those aluminum shafts in ASAP.

Just picked one up as well. Wanted something I could keep in my work truck that was inconspicuous, lol. Definitely going to look into wheels & tires.

Why jump on the bandwagon, when you can ride the Short Bus?

Now with FPV...for $200.

I don't know why embed randomly stops working for me so here's the direct link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8gpshQssUw

Added Rc4wd Metal beadlocks & rock crusher tires. Instant improvement, now it needs better gearing to crawl.

I went and ordered the RGT truck body along with some spare hexes. I don’t know why, but I like the look better than the flatbed for some reason. Can’t wait for it to get here but I also need some new driveshafts. Does anyone have a lead for a solid replacement?

I tried to shorten a set of the WPL aluminum shafts but ended up tearing up a U joint. I chucked the driveshaft and somehow lost one of the pins.

Side note, tracking says my RGT full body and 2 spare motors. I’ve already got some RC4WD Super Swampers so I may as well purchased the RGT in the beginning.
