Eddie Van Halen dead at 65...

I just found this out an hour ago. Van Halen was very influential to me as a young drummer back in the 80s. I'm deeply saddened by this. Eddie was my all-time favorite guitar player.

What a life he lead... simply amazing. My very first album was Diver Down, and since then although I might not have liked all the music and sounds Van Halen put out over the years I've always appreciated the talent and energetic performances.

RIP to the keeper of the Frankenstrat...
Whalin' Halen.

I was not much of a Van Halen/Van Hagar/etc fan. However, Eddie was one of the best ever at his craft and I always enjoyed his talent. Rest In Peace brother!

Eddie will be missed.
Van Halen my favorite band from high school.
A song would come on the radio and I'd ask my girls what band sang the song. They would guess Van Halen and they were right.

I can see it now, I think he's just tuning up with Dimebag, Neil on drums, Layne doing vocals, Cliff on bass.

RIP Eddie
