EP's DNA SSS Axial

Boom!

It's not quite done, but it's a roller. Did the basic build up, learned some, know what I want to change a little bit, but it's so damn cool.

All the pieces are cut very nicely. Assembled perfectly. Kick ass.

im liking how u mounted your upper links"thumbsup"

Thanks. They're all underneath the axle mounts and the bend goes downward for clearance for the rod ends to keep them off the plates. The rears are a hole higher in the back to clear the big Maxx shaft yokes, and the fronts are in a middle hole for a good pitch for the front axle. Get that knuckle caster right. "thumbsup"

Like I said, it's just thrown together at this point. I'd be great to not have to move anything, but I'm a tweaker!

Oh there's a good song, Blue Collared Tweakers!

I'll get more pictures up as I do stuff. "thumbsup"

Looking Good Man!

Nice to see more of these!

I am pretty sure this is going to be the next chassis for my Axial "thumbsup"

Wish I was on the proto-tester list :-(;-)

Looking Good Man!

Thank yo! I had my Axial running pretty damn good with no intent to change it. And I just bought new parts for it like new links to replace the old scratched and faded ones. Then Don shows off his SSS and it's like, uh... I want that right now! :ror:

I think I'll get new axles for the other truck, though now that I think about it, I probably just need new cases. I got too much crap laying around. :ror:

Guys run full width tires! In fact, you'll see in a vid I'm doing next week, full width cougars on the new Psycho rims get even more traction than on our Sniper beadlocks  Sorry to jack your thread...anyway, with a light rig, and normal width rims, you will need some tire under it...IMHO

Yeah okay, I wanna see the pics too. :ror:

That's one stubby ass driveshaft. :ror:

Traxxas lower links that I bent to fit. They're still a tad too long so the truck is actually stretched a little bit, but right at 12.5". DNA Don is gonna help me out with some delrin lowers. What a guy! And because I didn't have the really long screws I don't have the chassis arms and links as inboarded as Don does, but as it is, everything seems pretty good.

Just barely lifting that rear tire.

Don, do you have undrilled skidplates? Moving my trans forward would do a few things for me now that I look at it. I have the room, and it'd even out the driveshafts, and allow the spur to clear no problem. But I did just size up my 10T Cobalt Puller, and it'll fit. :)

Are you going to run narrowed tires or full width tires ?

What the heck does it look like!? :flipoff:

Full width most likely. I tried really narrow back in... hmmm 2004? Meh.

Please, the more info the better. "thumbsup"

Looks cool cant wait to see how it works.

Same here man! I'm actually pretty excited about it, and it's been a while since I've been excited. :ror:

One of the important things about the thought that went into this chassis was making it extremely simple to change flex without having to add weight to wheels to do it. With this, you just move your torsion rods in or out on the axle and you can go from 25-30 degrees up to 60+ of flex without changing weight a single ounce. I'm not sure but we might have an undrilled skid somewhere. I think you should throw in that puller tho! This thing will do some crazy stuff with all the power not being used to haul a ton of weight around :ror:

Ya, like jump all the way to the top of that one climb that gave you so much trouble with your berg:-P:lmao:

Oh yes....run the full tire. Just got my Psycho 'locks and I wrapped full Panthers around them with the CRWLER1 foams inside...and I think I'm going to like these.....8)
