I had a full set of aluminum upper and lowers from my Honcho so I threw those on there. I loath building links!!

I bought these motors used. Pretty sure they are machine wound. the 35 turn is a work horse. I'm sure they will do just fine. I'll be running this rig on 2S. I'm running stock gearing for now until I can drive it a bit and get a feel for the temps.

Scalers I tend to just drive slow and enjoy watching them navigate terrain. this body is going to take a fair amount of time to complete, so I plan on taking it easy on it for a while :)

Speaking of the body I am using one of Benders blog posts to finish the body. He did a great tutorial for those of you who plan on building the kit. you can find it here:

The 35T should be pretty peppy on 2s. I came real close to going with the same combo but ended up electing for a 55T on 3s since I had some laying around.

I tend to think the stock gearing is a little high for the normal RTR setup (27T on 2s), but I bet it will work out nice with the 35T

That sentence sums up my outlook on scalers to the T. Well put. Mine is about a month old and still looks new, lol.

man i would hate to have to rob the ones off my honcho...i wonder if they are going to sell the uppers or am i going to have to buy a full link kit..
 
Honestly for a scaler I don't see anything wrong with plastic links. But I don't drive mine that hard. Stockers held up fine for over a year on my RtR truck.
 
Thanks for the measurements. I was just wondering about the size of the shocks coz on the manual i got from the axial website they said it was 72.5mm

If you have a chance, can you pls tell me the measurement of the front upper links from eye-eye? I bought the rtr and tried around and now i dont know which upper link is the right one to put in. I believe the lower links i use the 103mm aluminium rods?

new shocks look boss man great job with the build, is the hardware all hex, i know in the past axial has inclused some philips hardware much to my dismay...
