Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

I wish their was a way to incorporate some rear toe into a solid axle. Seems tough to keep a strait line when trying to go fast! Still a cool rig"thumbsup"

Put steering knuckles on it and lock them out with some toe in.

Great video. Just one queation. What's the top speed? Kinda hard to tell with the slow motion and the varied terrain. All of my bashing spots allow for high speed and are very large, so I can use all the assets a vehicle has to offer. It looked like high 20s, but there are so many different variables I can't get a realistic eatimate. Heck, it would be great to see one next to a twin hammers or running both at the same time. I think the larger size may give the impression of a slower speed, we all know how that goes!

Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

Any room to narrow the width on this thing with hexes or hubs without running into interference in the front? That is a potential deal breaker for me. Still thrilled that Axial is putting this thing out there no matter what. "thumbsup"

Just what the doctor ordered. I can't wait to get mine. My son may inherit a fully decked out Wraith now!!!!!

Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

We were using 3S 5000mah packs and I don't remember exactly how long the run times were but it seemed like a good amount of time between changes. All I would have to do is look at one of the skinny jean wearing minions funny and he would snap his fingers and another skinny jean wearing minion would come running like a Japanese waitress to swap out the battery.

Are the skinny jean wearing minions the ones that built and designed this thing? Like college educated super smart boring engineer types? I always thought it would've been some badass inked up gruffly lookin dudes that would ride home on Harley's and crotchet rockets....

Machined screw's or self tapping throughout? Curious if Axial decided those self tappers are poop.

@ 3:47 is the skinny jean wearing lead designer of the Yeti. He's a great kid but nerdy as all hell. From what I was told is that Axial wanted to hire him right out of middle school at the age of 13 but since he wasn't of legal age to work in California Axial had to become his his legal guardian which he was ok with because it finally got him out of the orphanage.

I'm always serious. Had to give him up when I was 10, bitch said the bag broke and I wasn't about to retake 5th grade with a kid strapped on my back!

I think it's probably still self tapping as it has deeper threads to bite into the plastic. Same reason VP used 4-40 on the SLW hub... deeper thread engagement.

Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

MIP Slash 4x4 stub axles and SCX driveshafts fit , still some modding to do tho.
DMG seems to have the best looking setup
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial-wraith/463232-dmgs-bad-monkey-u4.html

I have done the slash/scx10 setup on my wrexo but it would be a ton cheaper if they made a specific kit fot the exo and the driveshafts allways hit my shocks when mounted in the stock position onboard the a-arms. A set with those dogbone style thinner shafts like is also available for the slash would be a winner IMO

Re: Exclusive review of the Axial YETI AX90026

..so there's still time to change the name? (j/k)

If so, they could try to pull a "Tamiya" with those bizarre ingrish names, say "Barmy Badger"or "Rabid Badger" orr..ehrmm.. "Bangin.... Err.. no,
"Ragin' Badger"?

Something sweet? "Bouncy Badger"? Would fit that frilly pink/blue paint scheme :ror:

Nah. I really prefer the "Yeti" name. :flipoff: I do not associate "Badger" with the ferocious Honey Badger, but with the rather shy and tubby badgers we got overhere.
