I never got why all the Facebook putdowns on RCC, because the region-specific groups I'm in are helpful, informative, and what little bs there is gets identified and placed in perspective.
That is I DIDN'T get it until recently, now that I've expanded into one or two brand-specific groups. Holy cow. Proceed at your own risk. Pity the poor defenseless newbie.
If there were a head-shaking emoji it would go right here.

The regional groups are smaller and usually take a tiny bit more effort to find since you might have to use a few different terms to get a local crawler oriented group. Just searching something like SCX10 II is easy and the groups are going to be large. More people + easy to find = more stupidity.
The great thing about forums is that the information is usually there forever. All you have to do is a little searching to find what you want. The lazy people of FB would rather just ask the question and have stuff spoon fed to them. A bonus on forums is you can easily see how long someone has been a member, how many posts they have, and what their previous posts are so you can see if that person giving you advice is a noob, seasoned pro, or simply an idiot. Not really as easy to see that on FB.
I've seen folks say stupid crap with absolute certainty on FB (There's no such thinggg as too much flexxx bro), but with a little digging you can see that they are new to the group and do not even own any crawlers.
