First scaler kit. Super excited

Hey guys so I ordered my first kit the other day decided to go with the sawback, mainly because I like how true scale it looks especially with the leaf springs. Not only is it my first kit it's also my first scaler. I'm looking forward to building it with my son this weekend.

So I finished up the sawback today. Unfortunately I forgot it mask the head/tail lights. But other than that I like it. No to cut out the decals and put then on. Loving this truck.

Decals in hobby-grade RC's are usually not cut. Use an X-Acto knife to cut them out.

Well I have not updated in a while so here it is today.

I finally got the driver in.

Also got the cooler in as well as a gas can, tool box , lantern, and a climbing rope. The bungie for the mats also doubles as the body clips.

Here is a little update. Took the scx10 bumper off and replaced the stock one. I had to take the light bar off because I rolled down a hill and stripped one of the light pods.. I also found little coke bottles, and put them in the cup holders.

Got a spare tire and mount today got it all mounted up as well.

So after a long time of just sitting the ol' jeep finally got some love


The rear springs were done for so I ordered new ones. As well as got a better servo.

So the tear down commenced.

I got all of that done then after talking to a Jeepiac I decided to make my own skid plate tonight so I started mocking up,

First with paper

Then card board

So tomorrow I am going to get materials to make the final product.

I also wanted to try and see if I could modify the bumper so it wouldn't snag on any obstacles. So I just cut out a wedge with the Dremel and bent the ends in.

A few more update. I finally got cv's, as well as a new winch controller. I also "upholstered" the seats. And got some accessories that I need to put in I also made a new tow rope and sewed the loops, with gear head Rc hooks. Also mad a seat belt for Tony. Here are a few more pictures.
