Flat Irons to Chisels

I think the foams in the flat irons are to big. I used my stock foams (well, cot down 2.2 memfoam) which gave a lot more traction. try putting ur 1.9 memfoam in ur flat irons, worked for me.

I pulled the stock mem foams out of the fIs and dang they are huge. anyway so i pulled apart the stock mrc tires and put the stock foams in the flatirons in the front only, with the intention that the front will grab more traction an the rears will not flip the truck over when climbing

I also took the foams out of my flat irons and put in the stock foams for the rtr tires and have found that it works for me better

Front's - Stock wheels modded w/ PVC w/ 4 oz added weight. This acts like the new comp wheels from Mayham, vented. Using the stock losi foams non memory white color plus losi 1.9 memorys. Total weight each is around 7.2 oz.

Rear's - Same modd's to wheels only added 1 oz. Standard memory foams that come w/ the chisels

I run my tires in a certain direction

you can't comp flat irons. It just doesn't work with the mini

Not really, I'm loving the pro-lines. You should try them. Plus I think they're cheaper

I've been running mine for a while now and I am still a fan! if I get another tire it would probally be the panther's but I can still hang with the guys that do so I'm staying with the chisels....pending Soundcolor's idea8)

I wouldn't want a tire any taller than these. Buddies of mine have rocked the flat iron or similar sized tires and have bad luck stuffing a tire under a ledge in a off camber situation and it's cost them lots. No thanks, don't want that. I know Gatekeeper is still rocking bald blue labels :mrgreen:

Just so you know, soundcolor has officially ran his "idea" on the rocks, and your chisels dont stand a chance.... eff those cute little matchbox car tires.

here are the answeres to the questions you are going to want to ask...

1. OMG, they clawed themselves up anything I could throw in front of them, even slick wet rock with nothing to bite into.
2. EFFFFF, they sidehill something stupid
3. The rears no longer dig in and bite so hard, which is HUGE help
4. I think once I unleash them, its what you will see at the next comps....
5. yes I will hook you up, as long as you keep quite about it
6. and just as soon as I can get a free day to go run

Well hopefully your "tires" will work, but I doubt the best. Someone is always coming out w/ new better that I've gotta have stuff. I'll stick with what works for me and continue to get better at it. Having the best tires isn't going to help you not hit that gate

my "tires" do work... and far better than anything else I have seen. If you doubt me, then I am willing to put my money where my mouth is.... Are you? Would you be willing to run whatever tire you can/want to against mine. Loser pays winner $200.00 bucks...?
I have to strongly disagree with you on better/best tires helping you not hit a gate?... of course they will. Tractioni is what this game is ALL about. If you dont have it you cant climb, you cant sidehll, and you cant hold a line. If you cant do those things you WILL hit gates, if you can, then the course will only get easier no matter how hard it is.

So here is what I offer. Come on down, and I will let you make 2 runs with your tires, and then two runs with my tires on your rig, if you honestly dont think they are better, then I'll pay you 200.00 bucks.
I would suggest stopping by the ATM as your gonna need to bring at least $300.00 with you. $200.00 to pay me, and another $100.00 to get me to get you a set of what I am running. (covers the cost of the tire plus my time, and shipping to your door).

You made an assumption on something without ever having seen it. Thats something that I dont and will never do. I simply challanged your assumption based on my real world experience. If your not man enough to accept the challange then just say so. No harm no foul. Its got nothing to do with a pissing contest, its a simple matter of you basically saying that something you have never seen wont work, and me making an offer (after having seen what it can and will do) to you, to find out. simple.

I am not a very good driver, I would rank myself mid-pack, so I highly doubt you will see my name at the top of anything...

This is something that is, and will be put out there for everyone, and the cost will be totally dependant on you. I wont ever make a buck on it, and its something that no-one will ever send/pay me even one dollar for.... Read into that what you will. The only other thing I will say is that it involves a major tire company........


As for pics or video. I have ran them privately. And I am tryin to work out a time to let some others run them... privately. If all goes well, then you will see pics and a video.

Ed has seen them in person... and even tho It was a quick spy shot, he sort of got to see what they could do even without runnin em. (although in all fairness, all we had available was the hood and windsheild of my car)

my bet was more or less posted so because I knew you wouldn't take me up on it... and if you did, it would be a quick 300 for me.

the chisels are awsome, there is no doubt. On all but one occasion eds rig has consitantly out performed mine. Although in all fairness, the first time, and then this last time was mostly because he is just simply a better driver than I am. His chisels (with the exception of that one time) have walked away from my flat irons....

They are a phenominal tire, and stick like crazy. However I like a bigger tire, and anyone that has ever run some of the bigger tires (flat irons) will tell you that the taller tires just dont get hung up as much.... but as a whole the flat irons suck... And the chisels rock


So, ED... when do you want to run...?
