Ford Farm Truck

Man this thing just keeps getting better and better. I need to come back down for some more VACOR runs to see this thing in action.

Thank you for all the comments.

Here are some pictures from the rocks:

I just stumbled upon this tonight...very cool build! I am also impressed by your pictures. Any chance photography is a hobby of yours too?

I have had an interest in photography since I was very young I'm just not very good at it. Taking pictures of scale vehicles is pretty easy if you have a good subject, good lighting, and can imagine what the composition would be from a 1:1 perspective.

how do those tires work
i mean r they any good

The tires are small and based on an all-terrain on- and off-road tire so I don't expect much crawling performance out of them. They aren't too hard though so they have some nice grip. You won't win any competitions with them, unless your competition is running the same tires. I haven't driven with them in the mud but I don't imagine they will work very well. My BFG's didn't do well in the mud.

This truck could use a taller tire for looks. That is due to Proline's interpretation of the wheel well cutouts. I am going to try some Mud Thrashers to see how it looks but I think I will come back to these. I'm happy with the Dirt Grabbers and they look perfect on the wagon wheels.

Hell with changing out the tire... I say their perfect!!!!! I love this rig , to me its one of the true scale rigs on the board.. The stance ,the paint and the driver scream scale!!!!!!

Holy hell, I didn't think this build could get any better!

Still hands down my favorite to date, nicely done sir 8)

There is a lot of cool stuff going on in this one. My first thought was "you have to get rid of those bent links", and then you go and just start from scratch with the whole chassis and everything. It looks pretty close to a real Ford setup too. It needs some kind of coat of rusty dusty brown on all the chassis and suspension parts and it would be perfect. Paint it all at the same time don't disassemble it.

The body is really fabulous. I've seen countless old Fords just like it on the roads around here. Adding a little "rot" by grinding from the backside, that is a good idea. And you found the perfect driver for it too (I've seen countless drivers like that around here as well...)

Thank you. I got some Mud Thrashers and they are too big and completely wrong for the truck. I didn't even try them on.

I started the body before I had any idea what chassis I was going to put it on. I didn't even know what chassis were available. This was my first build! I bought the AX10 kit to get my bearings. It was a brief lesson. The only way I could see getting it to where I wanted it to be was to fabricate it myself.

I still have some weathering to do on the wheels and I have to get it out more. The chassis will rust on its own, given a chance.

Realism was my goal so I'm glad to hear the illusion is successful.

how is the headache rack mounted btw?

Monty was out playing in the mud instead of getting some field work done.
