found new SCX10 II trail honcho RTR @ axial website

Razor thin margins at Axial are a farse. Axial is selling the Honcho at $330 whereas Redcat is offering a similar rig, with more metal, for $200.

I hate this redcat comparison. Take a look at where that product is made compared to Axial. There is a big difference in materials, consistency, and labor costs. Vaterra, Traxxas, Axial all made in the same country, all comparatively priced.

I thought they were all made in China?

Anyway, I'm confused by the $200 reference... The cheapest Gen7 is $300 from what I saw, unless I'm missing something...

Redcat is only $199.00, the pro is I think $279.00

Most use manufactures in the Republic of China, which is not the People Republic of China. AKA Taiwan

It doesn't matter where it's made. It matters how closely the engineers watch over the process. The manufacturer does what you pay them to do.

Did you hear the exciting news? China has an orbital space station. Dam crappy Chinese labor and work ethic. I can't believe it is still in space and hasn't fell on our heads yet. Those iPhones, man they are crap too.

Your dead on, QA/QC matters.

So.....When are we going to find out more about the K5?

What the hell does an axle mounted servo have to do with the rest of the rig? The body is pure scale nerd jerk off material but you'll toss the idea the rig is good because of the servo location? :lmao:

The bullet side 620 had a whole lot more style compared to a 74-78 hilux. I've owned a pile of both, actually learned to drive sideways in a 620.

Sweet. I have a few 620 Bulletside slot cars, but that’s all.

I'm extremely impressed with the China factories I have worked with, however given the choice I will work with Taiwan factories every time in this market.

You're correct, apple and the Chinese government are a perfect comparison to our toy trucks. While a majority of the Apple factories are located in China they are owned by a Taiwan company. A lot of the manufacturing is still done in Taiwan as well. Next time I need a quote for a new mold I will send it their way for an estimate.

Not sure, but its one of my favorite SCX10's to date.
