found new SCX10 II trail honcho RTR @ axial website

new forum member here, I just got my honcho and took apart the tranny to put metal gears in and apparently there is a full set already installed so i just added a bit more grease and closed it up. I thought there was 2 plastic gears in these as standard?

Intresting, I will have to open mine up pretty soon.

Got a bearing coming in the mail after a followup phone call.

I already robbed the wheels and tires for another build that is more scale to match my 1:1. (Ram 2500 Cummins on a lengthened Black Friday Deadbolt chassis)

Once ths cold weather breaks i will post some trail pics.

Finally got out with my 5 yo son with the new honcho on an all scx trail ride. He's running his Dingo and i'm juggling the other three for the video. I ended up putting a 20turn on 2s in the honcho, gearing is perfect for me.

Mine's got the metal gears, too.

My ae-5 failed,. First front led's went out. Then no reverse with smoke. Not really an issue, putting in a Mamba micro and a stubby tomorrow. I was going to use the ae5 for a winch contoller, but now i get to use something smaller. Win-win really.

Yah.. weird. 20t axial motor on 2s with stock gearing.. definately nothing crazy.. . Messing around on my frozen pond. Got wet for sure from snow. Found the lipo puffed a little, too.

Nope, just stuttered and went poof when going to reverse on a frozen pond. Kind of pissed about the lipo, but it was 14 months old, probably 50+ charges on it. It only grew about .1" total equal on both cells, took a good charge with no lost capacity. It's sitting in a metal ammo box in my cellar. Maybe i just didn't notice the puff before, it is very slight to the eye. Its mate still is puff-free, so not sure.

No big deal, probably a fluke thing. I wanted a brushless setup anyway.
