Hi guys,

I just bought a Futaba 4PKS R for my scx10 and xr10. I was using the spektrum dx3r pro before in all my rigs. As i installed my receiver, the car just doesnt work anymore. Steering servo is fine.

But when i push throttle, only the LEDs of my ae2 esc turn red when brake and green when moving.problem is, the motor doesnt turn while its doing it. So i thought it was a faulty connection to the motor. But when i plug my spektrum receiver in, all works fine including motor operation. Anyone have a clue what the problem may be coz a futaba noob needs some help.

Update: even if i turn my transmitter on and push it full throttle and then turn esc on, the esc doesnt go into programming mode which means i cannot calibrate it. Seems like its not sending out the correct signal to esc?though my green leD on the esc does show throttle and turn red when i hit brake.

Just the motor doesnt turn. Tried again with my spektrum and it worked all fine...

Sounds like a failsafe mode or whatever you want to call it. Look through the ESC and transmitter instructions regarding initial setup.

Step-1, did you bind the RX to the TX??
Step-2, when you're sure the RX is bound to the TX, calibrate the ESC to the RX
Step-3, If you still have issues, post back.

NOTE: you usually have to reverse the throttle channel on the TX to get the correct operation on the ESC.

Yeah, steering works fine with, so rx is bound.its just the throttle channel thats giving me the probs.

Like i said, when i did put the spektrum back, all was fine.

Ok, so you bound the Tx/Rx. Now do step 2. Did you reverse the throttle channel and try to get into the ESC programming as Charlie-III suggested? People are trying to help but it doesn't seem like you are trying anything out? Don't worry about your old Spektrum radio, just go back to square one and get into the ESC setup and go through that to calibrate it to your transmitter.

Problem solved! It was the faulty neutral position. What i did was plug the lipo into esc and wait for rx to bind. Then slowly moved the throttle until you find the neutral position, then the esc will beep 3 times. Then i restarted the esc and calibrated it with the tx. Now it works fine.

I m sure I m not the first one to come across this problem.

You likely did not have the TX really ready to do the calibration.

1-Throttle trims to "0"
2-Throttle EPA's to "100%"
3-Calibrate

Sometimes you need to change the deadband on the TX
