The links need to be shortened but other than that I think it will work out great

Your Thoughts??????????

man thats nice!! I like it a LOT rick nice build! good idea for sure.

hey can you tell me what bushings i need to replace the shit bearings in the portal gears?? traxxas I think but need to know where, size, yada yada..? thanks!

lets see some more pics of this beast!!

So is that just a stock Wriath chassis and links?...could you list the part numbers of the chassis and links, and what length are the shocks you are using?

Stock WRAITH chassis and skid
Pictures above are Vanquish Links and are to long....

I have gone back to STRC aluminum Links and they are a bit shorter (Picture below)
Shocks are custom "turned" Kyosho velvet Triple caps & are a bit to long.
right now the shocks are 4.5" eye to eye, but should be more like 4" for a lower ride height

I have also added some Hot-Racing Sway bars sold here: Sway Bars

Heres a Pic

I'm still pretty new to this RC game, but this is the first time I've seen swaybars on one. How would these assist with rock crawling/scaling? Or are they more for keep the weight balanced when going fast around corners?

thats gonna be sweet when its done. im building the same thing. running stock upper links on the lowers, just need shorter uppers for the upper links.

have you thought about getting the lowering kit instead of replacing the shocks?

ive got traxxas big bores(not sure of the lenght, and not home to measure) but im gonna get the lowering kit for it to keep the shock travel.

what motor transmission you gonna run? im starting out with a hand wound 35T (cant remember who) and the AX2 2 speed.

the Stock Wraith axles have a better gear ratio than the R1 portals so im also running 60/10 spur/pinion to get the speed down for crawling instead of the 60/15 that came with the tranny

i'll get a thread goin on my build eventually. just need to get home first

yours is looking spectacular so far

any updates on your build. i finally get home next weekend and have parts waiting to jump out of there packages and onto my "Portal Wraith". cant wait to see how yours turns out. got a few starting pics of mine in my album

I am waiting on the "HOT-RACING" aluminum trans cases to get back in stock

I'll post some picks in the next week or so

Checked out your Album.........look Great man
You should order the G-Made Aluminum lower Links
Then place your shocks on the lower links to get a lower CG

Regards, Rick

yeah, when i get home i will be able to play with all that and figure out what to do. i ordered the lower link/shock mount adapter to hopefully help out. been thinking about the delrin links from bluemonkeyrc too

well, its been a month. any progress on yours.

ive finally made it back home to USA and got my rig runnin. broke the right rear CVA axle shaft yesterday driving it in the parking lot at work. not too happy bout that but did keep the original dogbones. everything worked great for the shake down rock crawling last weekend and playin around in my yard chasing the dogs. got a few more pictures up in my album.

That's a nice machine ! Maybe COG is too high for rock crawling ? I'm a noob in the crawling world, so that's a simply a question :)
