i'm wanting to glue styrene and lexan together. what is the best thing to do that? i need a strong bond because im wanting to make flat flares for my pro-line cherokee body out of styrene. im going to glue them to the wheel wells on the bottom tub which is lexan.

E6000....best stuff you can use scuff the lexan and and styrene check out my wraith build build I glued styrene and lexan together and it has held up super strong

E6000 is not good for styrene.
It melts it before it dries.

I used it several times doing the styrene parts for my tomb raider defender build.

Not saying it can't be done. But it takes perfect timing.

But yes, its much stronger than shoo goo.

I wouldn't recommend using it just for styrene that's what bondene is for but when glueing styrene to lexan e6000 is the best option in my book I've done it several times with no problems and a couple guys on here have took my advice and done it as well.. All without failure and no deform in the styrene.. I wouldn't use it on styrene to styrene but with lexan it does very well holding the two together..

thanks for the advice. where can i find e6000?

I need to try e6000. "thumbsup"

I've used shoe goo and e6000 and the e6000 is way better and alot easier to apply in seams it lays down nice and easy.. It's basically a flexible super glue you can use it on anything

I've never tried e6000. But I stick my mirrors on with good ol-fashioned super glue, with good results.
Keep in mind, I'm not dragging mirrors across every obstacle either....err, trying not to.
When the mirrors pop of, I lightly sand the old glue off both pieces, and stick 'em back on...
Lately, I've been cleaning the lexan with window cleaner before I glue them, and it seems to make a world of difference.

E6000 serves many purposes...

I glued some steel rings to my diff center chunks
beat them to death in 'da rocks... still holding.

I've used it to adhere styrene to lexan
never had an issue and holds well.
The key is over-lapping the two parts together
so that there is enough surface contact for a good bond.

scuffing and cleaning the surfaces of oil residue improves bond.

Good thing is... it remains flexible after setting.
