Good Ol' Discussion

As of Nov 9th:
79.7% (342) of people shot in Chicago have been black.
16.6% (71) Hispanic, 10.8 (16) White/Other.

These figures do not reflect income or gang affiliation... just race.

EDIT: Source - 2015 Stats | Chicago Murder, Crime & Mayhem | HeyJackass!

Not doubting the race, color or creed of the people at all. Those that commit crimes are criminals. Criminality knows no color but by golly race is included every time it fits the libtard agenda.

So you say that you do not doubt what race these people are yet if it's mentioned... it's a liberal agenda?
Please do tell... what agenda is that?

Sorry bad engrish. Not doubting the racial statistics, just pointing out that the race is unimportant to the discussion. Criminals come in all races.

maybe if we all cared we'd get these kids a proper education and show them theres more to life then pushing drugs with a bunch of losers fighting other drug pushing losers

Opportunity, hope, an actual way to pull them up by their boot straps.

I for one believe that we should help those who want to help themselves.
No one should get a free ride. If you work hard, you should be able to support yourself.
Welfare should not be a lifetime method to support yourself or a family business that you pass on to your kids.
Welfare should include/mandate education and training... it should be a way of getting people on their feet, not supporting them.
Education is the key to all things.

We say it's the parents fault... they need to be there to take care of the kids, keep on their asses... but then we also say those parents, perhaps a single mother should work 2 jobs to feed those kids. How does that work?

We say, well...the father should be there. True... but the father is probably in prison for selling drugs because he was trying to feed those kids in the first place the only way he knew how... because he had no education. Let's say he get's out of prison and there's only a hand full of places that will employ a felon... such as Mc Donald's. But shit, working 38 hrs a week doesn't pay all the bills and doesn't provide health insurance.
So, he get's a 2nd job and now is not there to raise his children... or, he goes back to selling drugs and probably gets shot... and is not there to raise his children.

Now, the kids are hungry, have no one around to watch them because the mother has to work 2 jobs to support them.
Have to walk through gang territory to their shitty school and get beat up unless they join the gang.
We say, kid, if you want it... you have to earn it. Work hard and good luck with that.
The kid is sick of getting his ass beat so joins up with some other kids... and starts selling drugs.

Then, he knocks up some young girl and now she drops out of school and he has to support her... God forbid she abort that child.
So the boy is now trying to gain momentum in his street "business" to make more money now that he needs diapers and food and rent.

So, he starts doing bigger and badder shit till he either gets killed (which leaves the child with no father) or till he gets arrested (leaving the kid with no father) and the cycle continues...
on and on and on an on and on and on and on and on and on an on and on and on and on and on and on an on and on and on and on and on and on an on and on and on and on and on and on an on and on and on and on and on and on an on and on and on and on and on and on an on and on and on and on and on and on an on and on and on and on...
until one day some libtard says hey, we can keep doing the same old shit that got us here or we can try something new.

Let's give these poor ass wretched mother fawkers a god damn fighting chance.
Let's build a system to where if they work hard, they can overcome this shit.

Or we just put up a wall around Chicago and toss any criminals we find roaming around the rest of the cou try inside with a backpack full of drugs and a pistol in his pocket. Shouldn't take long for the animals to take care of the problem.

Edit.

Actually that's a stupid idea.

I am a fan of the flat out decriminalization of drugs across the board though. Take away the largest income of the criminal element and odds are that element will begin to go away. Make punishment matter. Jail or prison obviously isn't a deterrence so maybe actual hard labor for the non violent and a simple shot behind the ear from a bolt gun for the violent.

Not a lot of one handed people running around Iran these days since they'll cut your hand off for theft.

Their daddy sells drugs cause it's a lot easier than working a real job. It all comes down to their choices. There are many people every day that work their way out of the cycle it takes want to. We can't make them want to. I agree put up a wall around Chiraq and let nature take its course. Would shure lower the amount of welfare recepiants. The American Dream is still alive and well just got to go work for it.

Ahhh yes, the American Dream... attainable the way White Trash suggested?
10 to a room... the way the Mexicans do it?
There is a name for that ya know... and by golly, it's not "The American Dream".
It's called poverty.

So even though someone wants to work hard, is willing to work hard... that's not enough for you S ARR T 8?
You still maintain the fawk them attitude?

Because as I suggested, we help them help themselves... and you say fawk them. They don't deserve it?
Or, maybe I'm reading too much into your statement.

I know you don't want to pay people a living wage unless they are working a real job... maybe you could explain what is a real job and where to find it.
There seem to be several million Americans who haven't figured it out.
According to the US Census, 46.7 million people in poverty in 2014.
That's a lot of lazy ass entitled people right?

10 to a room like migrant messicans is a situation of their choosing. When you see that you need to look in their closet/backpack and driveway to understand why they do it. Ramshackle shacks rented from those that do not check papers stacked 10 people deep but by golly they have new smart phones, nice clothes and much nicer cars than I care to drive. It's not just true of messicans either, I see nice cars and clothed people every day in all nationalities but the cramming of people is only typical to the farm workers in my experience solely due to their lack of papers.

The "living wage" bs is just that, bs. Very few people make minimum wage for long. Those that do are either too lazy or just plain stupid to be worth more money.

Well it only took 8 pages for guns to be brought up. On second thought, that's pretty impressive for this group.

So we know where we all stand on minimum wage and guns, what's next?

Wow... soooooooooooooooooooooo, when it come's to obtaining the American Dream through hard work and dedication... Americans should try harder to be like Mexicans?

I actually agree with you WT (not sure many others will here... in RCC Chit Chat, but I do ;-) ), we are some tough ass people.

You are right about some of the migrant worker mindset in my experience.
Growing up in my very small homogeneous country farming town the daughter of a family that started in the area as seasonal migrant workers got a Corvette for her 16th birthday.

I think a living wage will weed out the "lazy or just plain stupid to be worth more money"... hell, even EeePee said that he'd go back to work for McD's at $15/hr.

So, some slacker gets replaced by someone who will to work a lot harder for minimum wage.

Immigration Reform... it seems. :lmao:

That should be win win in the eye's of those of us who believe that hard work is rewarded and hate's the shitty performance from today's entitled.

Not really because it's still a crap job. You'd just have higher paid slackers.

This is the whole argument for it being a 'stepping stone' job. Higher pay should be equilateral with skill set. There's very minimal skills required to work at a fast food restaurant.

Out of highschool, I worked in 3 factories... the first two starting at min/wage and the 3rd a bit more. Most of the workers were mid 20's - 30's and had family's, some were old men, and a lot of single mothers.

They all started at min/wage and if they worked their asses off and were patient (years), they'd eventually make a few more dollars than min/wage... and then still live on the edge of poverty.

A livable minimum wage does a lot of good for the majority of the country, not just fast food workers.

I agree with this for the most part.from an outsiders perspective, it all comes down to willpower. I like using Richard Sherman to prove this point. Grew up in Compton, saw the way of life there & wanted better(which is also where the parents come into play). And he did it in a huge way. Stanford & the NFL. All because of willpower, determination, & not liking what he saw when he looked out the mirror. I know that's an isolated case & I'm sure there are those in Chicago, other cities as well, that have those. They have to want it though. Complancecy is a helluva thing...
