Greatest metal band ever???????

My 1 y/o boy loves the metal channel on Sirius.

He was dancing to some Tim Armstrong the other day....I'll have to dig out the OpIvy tapes for him....

so post it up what are your thoughts? I am torn between Judas Priest, and Sabbath. British steel was the first metal album I ever bought, but it is hard to deny the influence of Ozzy and Sabbath.
I do some work with a guy that LOVES British Steel. He says it's his favorite album of all time. BTW, he still rocks a mullet.

Surprised no one has said Pantera...one of my personal favorites...but I can usually appreciate anything with nut pinching vocals.

Edit:this thread is moving faster than my typing.

The man said "greatest metal band ever!).

Who has influenced more lead singers, and more lead guitarists?

Plant and Page, so the obvious answer is Led Zep, hands down.

Too many youngsters here talking about "good" bands, but not the greatest.
Theres the test of time, impact, and influence.
