GT3B Hack Question and Answer Thread

I rammed two DX3E's into one case.

The GT3C batteries have built in discharge protection. The battery voltage display and low voltage warning is so you have warning before the battery just disconnects from the radio. You won't harm any part of the radio by over discharging. But may get unexpected shut off if cal'd wrong

As long as it's new stock, the power switch issue should be fixed.

Awesome thanks. I left it to charge and set it to 4.2v, when I checked it after it was 4.15 so close enough. Set the warning to 3.2v as I'd like a bit of a heads-up and to cover any difference in the calibration vs real pack power.

Tempting to put in a larger battery and dedicated charging port but I will see what kind of life I get out of it first.

Thanks again "thumbsup"

Hey, is there any info anywhere on the hack settings. Seems to be a ton of options which I can't decipher.

EDIT: Answered my own question, this helps a bit

Dear Sir, thanks for your great job.
One more question, with the firmware, if one GT3B CAN bind 2 Receivers?

So I've sent a few emails back and forth with my GT3C supplier. And the enter button issue you guys are having is the first they have heard about it. So I'm thinking I just got a couple bad radios in.

I'm working on finding a fix though.

Of course, because nobody goes directly to the supplier and says,
Hey, I skipped my LHS and came straight to the supplier - "my enter button broke".

How would they ever know? I'm glad it was a simple fix, and thank you for looking into it. "thumbsup"

LHS would then contact the supplier.

And my supplier sales to the general public as well.

Hello there.. I have an issue with axial ae5 esc..
It's seems that on esc setup (first 3sec when powering up esc) not receive a neutral position... I do the Calibration but still have the problem.. I also try another radio(dx3c) but it work..
... Ps the steering works fine

+1 one. Ive actually always had this problem but have resorted to have another DSM-based Spektrum transmitter with its receiver for those esc:s/cars I cant get to calibrate properly with the GT3x.

So any solution to this is worth a beer, frankly..

I currently have a hacked gt3b and gt3c. i was wondering if you sold any twin stick radios that are setup for moa crawlers? or if you dont, could recomend one that already has self centering sticks on both sides and a good setup for dig?

Just wanted to post an update.

I've been moving to a new place the last two weeks. I finally got everything moved into my new place and my old place cleaned yesterday.

I just got internet hooked up to my new place today. However, before I start unpacking I need to do a lot of cleaning at my new place because the previous tenant had absolutely no concept of "clean". I don't even think she vacuumed the place. If she did. it was a shitty ass vacuum because there was more shit in the carpet then there was at my old place. (And we only vacuumed a couple times a year). And I went through half a roll of paper towels today cleaning out the clothes washer and dryer. I didn't know a washing machine could get so disgustingly gross. I really want to tear it apart into pieces and clean it better as I know it's still dirty underneath the plastic pieces.

I'm hoping to get overkillrc unpacked and shipping product again by the end of the week. I had planned a short two day period of no overkillrc. But between centurylink needing to send out a gazzilion different techs to hook up a damn telephone line to the pole and my new place being dirty. I'm alot farther behind than I'd like to be.

Good news though...I finally have enough room to separate everything to their own setup so I no longer have to do overkillrc work, school work, tv/games, and music all from the same desk. So hopefully my efficiency at getting stuff done will be quicker. Currently overkillrc and school stuff is setup on my main massive L desk. But I now have a 1.5 bedroom apartment (I was sharing a house before), so eventually the half room (it's like 6'x6') will get it's own workbench, computer, label printer, and inventory/shipping supplies storage for overkillrc.

hey LosiKid - maybe I missed this, but does the GT3X and the GT3C have the same firmware? or are they different? I kind of read thru the last few dozen pages real quick the other day and can't remember

thanks!

The demension is not the same but the turnigy is.

Side note, Austin I just ordered some parts for another controller build, just small parts. Let me know when they shiplay or what not so I know they are coming ..... for a customers rig.

Oh and totally awesome on getting new place...... get a week end gf and tell her to clean it up fast........ if you were closer I would send one or two over

so confused at the moment. so they are not the same?

I was just looking for a cheap alternative to using my race radio with my crawlers - but doesn't seem like this is the way to go.

Nope, demension and turnigy are two different radios....... it's back about 5 pages or so

that's what I thought I remember seeing. thanks

I guess now my big question is - exactly how good are these radios? they seem to have a good bit of features, especially the hack, but overall how are they. build quality seems iffy at best, at least based on what I was reading.

am I going to be cursing at the radio every time I use it? I realize it's a $70ish dollar radio, but it is really worth it

I plan on using it with my scx10 and, at some point, with my Tamiya high-lift so I can finally have a truely shiftable transmission. other then that, it might see some usage in my rally - but not sure if I'd want to go full-time with it as my primary radio.

or am I just being a little snobby about it?
