Harley's TCS X-Trail

Ok, That actually got a chuckle out of me :D

I have to make an admission on the light bar........I fried the LED's
People who know me know that I am always rushing, well it got the best of me this time. After I got them all wired up I went to hook up the batteries and.....well i couldn't find a 3rd tripple A. After looking for a solid 2 or 3 minutes I figured what the hell, lets just try 7.2v.

WOW they were bright...........for about 3 seconds. SOOOOOO.......long story not so long, this light bar is useless to me and is just sitting there looking pretty until I get a chance to wire the other one I have sitting on my bench.

You could use 7.2 volts to power them if you put a resister on in line with the power. Because I have used 9 volt batteries on LED in the past with this simple forumla R = (V1 - V2) / I to figure out the amount ouf resistance needed.

Here is a example my LED is 1.7V, it takes 20mA (which is .02 A) of current and my supply is 7.2V. So the math is...

R = (7.2V - 1.7V) / .02 A
R = 275 ohms

I hear you dude, I just have all that kind of stuff laying around at home and me not thinking that not everyone has all that crap at home.

Oh well, thats a bummer I would probably end up doing the same thing tho. I am not even sure where I can mount off road lights on my project right now I just know that I want too. In the grill area would be nice but I am worried about rock damage then.

F-350 Leafs on the TCS X-Trail

Ok so I needed my chassis a few inches longer abd well was tired of waiting for the leafs to come out so I built it like this for now. I will be getting the new leafs once they come out. Here is a few pics

Is it possible to run these leaf springs with a shackle? I'd like to build a truggy similar to my 1:1...but no shackles isn't very scale. Just curious. And sorry if I missed it I did read most of the 30+ pages "thumbsup"

Just a couple of pics of how my project goes:

As you can see, it has tons of articulation and the scale look is evident.

However, I still have to control the torque twist and add some realism to the body: back cover, front bumper...

Hope ya like it! "thumbsup"
