HengGuan Mercedes G63 6x6 Review

To the thread starter:
Have you found a driveline replacement yet other than the stock HG driveline?
I was a bit bummed out to find it uses 4mm output shafts rather than 5mm output shafts.

Other posters have given options on driveshafts that we can use. Plz read the thread and you will see multiple options recommended from Traxx to s.d.i drive lines. I'm working on an adapter to run 5mm shafts and a modified motor mount plate to run a brushless, but so far on a brushed set up I haven't needed to upgrade them. Like another poster stated these axles run a 4:1 ratio so a lot less stress is placed on our plastic driveshafts. As for ppl asking for bearing sizes, I have posted these details so look at the thread. You could also look in your assembly manual, it has all of the bearing sizes you would need.

Emilhetty,
please, post more information and images about your axle servo mount Project. I'm thinking in make the same solution to my P402.

Regards,

Hi guys
Has anybody been able to put scx10 steering knuckles on the p601 axels?
They are very close to fitting with the factory c hubs but the holes just don't line up

Edit!
I bought wraith ones by accident
The scx10 ones fit

Or you can buy the SDI shafts. They have them in 5mm but also 4mm.

I have these on an Everest 10, very simple and great (they only ship 4 m4 grubs though, u can find m4 grubs in a HW store SS are like 60cents each though...) The hubs are steel"thumbsup"

I have not tried these flavors though:

I did a guesstimate now with the axles fully up we surpass 110mm and extended below 150mm so the longer ones seem ok.

I knew I had seen that the SCX hubs fit somewhere...how did they work out?

The steering knuckles fit perfect except you will need to figure out bearings as the housings on the knuckles are much larger than the stock part. I haven't taken time to get exact measurements and try bearings yet, I will try to post when I do.

Gi guys,

I just bought this 35T for less than 8 euro shipped!!! Hope it's good :)

5x11x4 and 8x15x5 did the trick. Stock axles w/SCX10 steering hubs.

I decided to give one a try. Ordered from aliexpress, it shipped the next day and arrived here about a week later - fastest shipping I've ever gotten from China. Total price was just south of $200CAD with shipping.

Overall I'm pleasantly surprised, the truck seems well built (even better than one should expect for the price anyways).

Except there's no steering. I power it up and the throttle works and the servo makes noise but the only input the servo responds to is steering trim.

I guess this gives me time to repaint the body, I don't care for the silver so it's going drab olive I think, maybe camo if I get ambitious...

When I've got time I'll try some different electronics, but it's a bit of a hassle since the Rx is integrated into the ESC.

so how does the size of these rigs compare to like the rc4wd beast body? i dont really like the mb 6x6 body and prefer a military transport style body, but im not sure if the fit is close.

Here it is compared to TF2
Wheelbase is almost identical from 1st to 2nd axle as the tf2. Hope that helps.

The orange looks really sharp! Good colour choice!

In post #5 of this thread there is a picture of this body on a beast chassis (I'm pretty sure that's what it is anyways). Looks like the fit is pretty much spot on..

Replacing the plastic servo arm with metal made a huge difference in my steering on my HG p401, haven't done it on the 601 yet. Now it turns sharp enough to roll if I am at any kind of speed. Still want to try and lower the servo but haven't come up with a solution I like yet.

The stock motor is 27 turn. I'm planning on putting a brushless system in mine.
