Hera revisited

Got the winch hooked up to a momentary switch on the Flysky... just gotta figure out how to map the thumb button for the 2 speed.

It's been awhile but I remember long clicking rev menu and choose which chan the 2spd servo is plugged into, then then choose button to be mapped to.

It's comfortable for me to have my 3pos momentary winch control on the d/r switch.

Hope you get her all going "thumbsup"

I don't know if you're still running the servo winch this way, but if you just wound the winch line around winch the spool the other way (clockwise as opposed to counter clockwise in the pics), you wouldn't have to use all of the ball ends to route the winch line to the fairlead.

The line is braided stainless steel rope... the ball ends keep a little bit of tension on the line to prevent it from unspooling. "thumbsup"
I have been considering ditching the stainless steel for a synthetic line.

Go with lockedup RC Extreme winch line and never look back, it's more flexible than braided steel line and probably stronger at a whopping 250lb break strength!

Hera took 2nd at the opening day NWITTC event (North West Indiana TTC) in Overkill Class.

I love having 4ws again but not loving how it's set up on my FlySky radio... guess I'll have to live with it though.

I definitely need to swap out winch line and go to a more flexible synthetic line... I'm tired of my line always getting knotted up after a few uses.
Fortunately it worked for me yesterday when I needed it but it did fall off the spool as I was winding it back in.

4WS is extremely useful... especially on the crazy tight courses we were running yesterday at Eclipse Hobbies in Bradley, IL

Not sure if there are other pics out there but I'll post them if I find them.

SO you got photos of your rigs standing in line like a shop meet..... Wheres the Action Man??

Hera has new OD/UD gears on the way.
I opened up the front diff while installing Dlux modded 70 degree axles and the front OD gear was tore up!
I can't remember if I changed the rear when I blew out the bearing at ECSC so I got a new one of those too.

Now, I just need some new winch line and we should be all set.

After trailing Ed all season, Hera squeaks into first place... by time.
The next couple comps are gonna be interesting!

Because you live under a rock....
How old is Herra? She's gotta be one of the oldest pimp builds that's still running and not in Ballers case of forgotten crawlers.

We went to the King Of The Guru's comp in Ohio presented by Super Shafty a couple weeks ago and had a blast... except I got sick as a dog!
I ended up having a fever and slept in my tent most of the day Saturday with my buddy 2.slow waking me up for my runs.

Hera ended up in 6th... which isn't too bad I guess considering I felt like I was dreaming during my run.

I blew out the front diff gear and broke my front servo mount and servo ears... I replaced the mount but now the front servo is held on by 3 tabs instead of 4.

Yeah, Sally pointed me to a thread where a couple of guys cracked the cases!
I'm going to run them at ECSC and assume they will make it through one comp...

Hera took the lead at NWITTC yesterday!
No longer tied, 1st place baby!
Now, I just have to hold onto that for 1 more comp!
