HH Cobalt Puller- Reborn page 35!

how would a 7t puller run with mamba max and 3cell lipo 11.1v 2200mah r2 trans and 13th pinion run with tlt axles....

It will run great "thumbsup" Only difference is I run a Sidewinder and not a Mamba Max, and a smaller pinion. R2D, 8T pinion, 3S 2200mah battery, and TLTs. With the 13T you may get a pinch hot like JRH said, and for a crawler you will have TOO much wheelspeed. With the 8T and 11.1V I have tons of wheelspeed, more than enough to jump 8" plus gaps, hit steep climbs and launch the truck up...

hi John,
i ordered a cobalt 7t about 4-5 days ago and was wondering if it was from a already finished batch or if they are still being made. its order #2000 and its an international order (Australia). When I ordered, the baxley address for international orders was stored from my last order, so will it be shipped to my paypal address? cant wait to get it.
cheers, Seb

I am looking at your order now. It will be packaged up today and sent out.

cheers mate.
looking forward to getting it. also would this motor with a roster crawler and 7cell split pack have as much power as a novak goat brushless system? or will i need a lipo and better esc to really open her up?
thanks for the help
Seb

I got today 8-pack, BEC, ESC, and the 7T Puller from last week's order., :) Many thanks for the superb service and quick delivery."thumbsup" Cheers Mate!

I'm about to order a 7t and my question is should i go ahead and order a 11.1v lipo for it or will my 8cell split pack work for time being? kinda need to save alittle money for now. Its for a comp rig

Thanks

With moderate throttle use it is fine, but your motor will be stronger than the battery. Basically your battery will limit your power.

John, is there any batt NON lipo you'd recommend for the 7t?

2/3a cuts it, 4/5a are better, sub-C is best. The more power you can feed it, the better.

johh,
would the 7t run ok on a rooster crawler with a 3300 or 4000nimh standard stick pack in ax10 with stock gearing?

Sounds like a great combination to me.

your suggestions jrh !!!!!!!

i would like your opinion on the following set up:

slingshot chassis
mamba max esc
cobalt 7t
dna dig
hitec hsg599tg (STEERING)
HITEC 645 ? DIG

WOULD THIS MOTOR HAVE HIGH WHEEL SPEED AND LOW SPEED TORQUE WITH THIS SET UP ?? IF SO, WHAT LIPO 11.1VOLT BATTERY WOULD YOU SUGGEST AND ALSO, GET DESCENT RUN TIMES (45 MINS OR MORE). ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS YOU WANT TO MAKE , FEEL FREE. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

The motor does have high wheelspeed and low speed control, as well as lots of power. I would suggest a lipo of at least 40 amps discharge rate for 11.1v use. You will need 2000mah of runtime or more for 45 minutes of crawling. Even with 2000mah hard thrashing could drain it in 20 min though.

I carry a 2200 11.1v 25C pack that works very well and holds high voltage under load, the silver knight http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php?productid=211&cat=10&page=1

That's what I've been looking for, someone to just tell me pretty much which pack I need with the puller motor. So far I've had decent luck with the 8cell saddle packs, but I know it would be much better all around on lipo.

THANKS JRH!!

THANKS FOR ALL THE INFO AND I'LL BE IN TOUCH.
P.S. DOES ANYONE MAKE A 11.1 V LIPO SADDLE PACKS (220O MAH) ?

To make it a balanced saddle pack it would need to have parallel cells. Maxamps makes some I think. I don't like the concept of it really, packs built with parallel cells. I also don't favor lipo on the front axle because of the lack of space. Can't fit enough on the axle for a high power motor basically.
