Hey John, Im new to the crawling world, and I just bought a Berg. It has Holmes Hobbies 45t TourqeMasters ont it. Well one of the motors I cant get it to do anything. Its getting plenty of power, but it dosent make a noise or even try to move. Nothing in the can, or anything. The guy who I bought it from said they only had 10 mins of run time since he bought them. Any ideas? Thanks. "thumbsup"

need help and not getting any in electrical thread. im running a Mamba micro pro in my 2.2 with 65t integy, 1250 lipo, hitec 645 for steering and 225 for dig, and a 6 volt bec. problems started when i went to three channel radio. ive gone through three different radios thinkning it was that, nope. somthing weird happens, when i touch my wheels or any other metal part with say pliers or somthing while rig is on it makes it glitch.. hmm. i dunno any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

John, starting a new Axial based rock racer project. It will be a rock racer/capable crawler. A large battery is going to be tough to fit. I am guessing a 1200-1550 (around 25-30c) 3s lipo is about all I will be able to fit.

I want this to be fairly fast, I would really love to hit upper 30's. Gearing can be adjusted obviously. You were at the rock race last year, this years is going to have slightly more technical rock sections but I want more speed than I had.

I want SPEED "thumbsup" I need advice on ESC and motor. Tekin sensored Brushless? Low turn brushed?

Did the 454s come in and already gone? Just checked the site and it shows 1 in stock, ofcourse I need 2.

Not yet, Getting 50 more on monday.

what motor and esc combo would be good for a wreckluse chassis, i have an axial tranny, also what gearing for this setup using a 2 cell lipo, id like to get some wheelspeed and torque.

Stock gearing works well. 87/14 is good to start. I would throw a 35 to 27t in there, then gear up as you setup will take. A small lipo won't like too tall of gearing.

Could have contaminated brushes or comm. It could also have a hung brush. Make sure the brushes both move freely and pop back to the comm without resistance. If that doesn't work you need a comm and brush cut.

Will the mini torque master run with a losi 1000 lipo

Yeah, no problem.

Sounds like you are running an AM radio, they glitch a lot.

You battery size will be the limiting factor. Find out exactly how much battery you can fit, and we can work from there. Maybe a spot to run two packs in parallel? If you can only fit a 1500 30c pack you won't be hitting 30mph for long.

how many cells max for a 10t puller

hi john, i want a bit more from my kyosho super..im running your 10t @3s with a mmm esc..had some big..8 1/2 dia tires..too big not enoug torque so i,ve gone down to about 7' tires , should help the torque but need a bit more wheelspeed..running a r2 with a 9t pinion..its juast a fun type crawler...how may cells lipo is safe

John,
I figured you'd be the man to answer my question. On my Losi Mini, I'm running a mini Torquemaster on the stock esc. I switched out the esc to a micro sidewinder. Removed the leads from the mini TM, soldered on new leads that had bullet connectors. Programmed the esc with the castle link, hooked everything up, calibrated the esc. Everything went fine as planned, no problems. Went to run the truck, no movement out of the motor. The ESC lights up green for throttle, red when in reverse and yellow in neutral, just as it should. But I get nothing out of the motor.

Here's my programming:

Hey I got a 7t puller 2nd hand and it dident have the famous yellow holmes hobbies sticker is there a way to get one of those stickers?

Also is there any way to tell witch wire on the motor is positive? One has a small peice of red shrink on it but I want to be sure before running it as I mentioned I got it used and wouldlike to be sure before I run it.

Thanks,
Cole

Odd that you posted this as I was just about to.

John, I am having the same issue as well. Was driving it yesterday and it simply stops with no throttle or reverse?! ESC lights show normal but no movement until I push the thing. Then it stops again and won't move.

Ideas?

Sorry to jack your post, but it helped me too by asking.

Jon

No worry of jacking my post. Mine won't even move if you push it!

Anyway, just read this in the Losi Mini section. I'll have to try this tonight when I get home.

I have the same set up (I did untill the mamba fried)

Problem is I couldn't get the motor to work until i wired it up for "high powered motor " setup , and when you do that the thing wont go in reverse.

What am i doing wrong ?

Hook the motor up to the black and white wires I think. Black and red don't work for brushed reversing- error in the firmware.

Is the new version out that has about the same power as a stump puller?

My motor has more power, but is slower by a bit. I haven't found a motor as fast as the stump puller yet.

do you need a motor plate to mount up the Revolver Black

No you do not.

watch the heat on the motor. If you are running above 140f I would stay at 3s. It it runs cooler, try 4s. Don't let the can get above 160f.

Try the black and white leads for power, there is an error in the firmware.

Sure, I can send a sticker out. Send an email to me through the site with your addy.

Polarity doesn't matter if the motor is timed at zero still. It should run the same speed forward and reverse.

I JUST GOT 2 COBALT MOTORS LAST WEEK .. GUESS I SHOULD HAVE LOOKED ON EBAY.. $20 CURRENT BID

lol..i bid 30 but was auto outbidded:)

Good luck to the winner, those have 4mm shafts and won't work with normal RC car pinions. The pinion may also be welded to the shaft.

That sounds like a burned comm or brush. You need a comm and brush cut most likely
