I need some advise on a mod I am thinking. I have a summit on it's way and I was thinking of changing the ESC with a HH torquemaster, since it's one of the few I read it can be used up to 6S lipo, and keep the stock Titan 775 motor...
Do you think the motor will handle the voltage???

Probably not. Aren't those similar in construction to their other Titans? Obviously a little bigger, but still the cheap bushing, dumb brush spring set up, right? 3S gives those a hard time.

Try it and take pictures.

I don't want to smoke the motor... the motor works normaly with 2 Nimh 7 cells, so that is about 16.8 Volts... now a 6S would be 22.2 Volts... I know for sure that a 5S can work with 18.5 Volts but I don't have a 2S battery to match my 3S. So I was thinking two 3S and try... but I am concern for too much voltage...

Oh I thought they ran the two 7 cell packs for runtime, not voltage.

Well then, you might be pushing it, but it's only $35 to replace it.

I think the 775 will do fine on 6S. Most of the 550 sized motors will run a long time on 5S if they don't have a big load. Same will be true for the 775.

If you gear it a little low it wont fry on the first few runs . It will shorten the life of the motor though . Also you wouldnt wont to run it for very long each time because it will get hot . A friend went through 3 motors in 4 or 5 months . He is a little hard on his trucks so you may have better life than him depending on how you drive .

Mine gets a bit hot stock just using 2 six cell packs(NimH)

I don't really have any complaints about the stock ESC.

That's what I'm thinking, I've been beating one of them in my E-Revo for over a year now doing a variety of abuses while running 14.4v-16.8v and geared 12t-22t/68t.

Yup, gear down first and see what happens.
