Hi. Im looking to upgrade from my old stock axial servo on my wraith. I have put 3oz in each of my front tires. is this perfect for the Hitec?Or too heavy? Also i run a Tekin fxr, I dont know if that matters.
So do i need a bec? im planning to run 2s lipo. Thanks!

I would suggest a 7950 over the 7954.....we've run both, the 7950 is a better servo in the long run.

Regardless, once you hit ~200inoz, you really need an external 10A BEC.8)

EeePee....you crack me up sometimes [in a good way]

With 2S LiPo on board you don't need a BEC for the servo. Just feed it directly from the battery!

With a fully charged LiPo putting out 8.4V, I would hazard a BEC in the way of full volts might be a good idea.

Fried servo is not a good way to start the day, even with bacon...

The 7954 is rated for straight 2s power. I have been running one like that for years in my AX-10 and it works flawlessly in a BTA setup.

That said, I stripped three 7954's in four packs in my Wraith. The larger track width and steering angle/leverage wreaks havoc on servos. The 7950 has stronger gears, so it's the one you want.

I'm now running a Savox 2270 in the Wraith, and while it has slightly less holding power than the Hitec 7954, it is still going strong over twenty packs later.
