Holmes TrailMaster Rock Crawler motors- Scale and Trail Tuned!

Re: Holmes TrailMaster 540 motors- Scale and Trail Tuned!

Just bought two of these for general use (and mud. lots of mud :) ) to replace my ailing integy 35t, Which I'll probably send in for service sometime soon (awesome idea, by the way)!

Can't wait till they arrive.

Re: Holmes TrailMaster 540 motors- Scale and Trail Tuned!

Should I expect improved torque from the Trailmaster Sport 27t as compared to my Axial 27t, with no gearing change?

Re: Holmes TrailMaster 540 motors- Scale and Trail Tuned!

The sport version is similar to the axial stock motor. Basic sealed can motor.

The Pro version of brushed TrailMaster has been discontinued, as the performance was overall too similar to a TorqueMaster Pro. We have replaced it with the TrailMaster BL which offers a better long term value for dirty conditions.

Re: Holmes TrailMaster 540 motors- Scale and Trail Tuned!

I've been using a few of the Trailmaster sports... great motor for mud, water holes and heavy dirt. Looking to move into Trailmaster Expert or Pro. It'll get messy for sure. Should I stay with teh cheaper expert?

Re: Holmes TrailMaster 540 motors- Scale and Trail Tuned!

TrailMaster Sport 540 (and 550!) motors are officially back in action! We improved the magnet grade, added a pinion side ball bearing, and set them up with zero timing so you can run them either direction. Whether you need a budget stock motor replacement or a less expensive option to ruin in the mud, we have you covered with exactly the right motor.

For folks that want less expensive brushless options, we also have the TrailMaster Sport BL motors.

Best option for a 2.2 Wraith G6/crawing setup? 3s powered...

Re: Holmes TrailMaster 540 motors- Scale and Trail Tuned!

If you can clear the 550, definitely that. Otherwise there is only two other options, slightly slow 35t and slightly fast 27t

Just some reference info for future search criteria...

I just recently installed a budget system in a simple TF2 Yota camping truck, which consisted of a Hobbywing 1080 esc and a HH TrailMaster 550 sealed can motor. I used stock TF2 gearing, stock 2spd transmission, and running stock diameter tires(3.7"). Powered it with a Duratrax 4000mah 3s pack, and it is absolutely scale perfection. Plenty of extra slow precision in low gear, and more than enough top end speed in high gear. I could not be happier.

I also want to add that I ordered straight from HH and received excellent service and shipment as quick as any retailer would offer "thumbsup"

Re: Holmes TrailMaster 540 motors- Scale and Trail Tuned!

Does anyone know if this would be a good replacement or upgrade to the current Stock Motor for the Axial SCX10ii crc? Also, would it just be an easy "drop in" and go type of thing? My rig is all stock, only things upgraded or tires and links.

Re: Holmes TrailMaster 540 motors- Scale and Trail Tuned!

You will need to solder on the wires. Otherwise a drop in replacement.

It will be a nice hop up without being high cost.

A solid choice.
This one in a Vaterra Ascender.
Cheap. Good. Fun. "thumbsup"

Thanks for the info guys.

So I see the options are for a 21T, 27T and 47T. Im just looking for a good all around motor for trail and crawling. Not really a racer. Would you guys suggest the 27T?
