I've been running some Ideas through my head, and I cant seem to understand how they work, mind you I havent really done any research, just thinking about final application and not function:lol:

so..... how does it work??:-P

I might be able to shed some light on this for you. I have been kickin aroung the idea of using Hydrolic's in stuff. I am around the stuff a lot, on the Fishing boat, the Bobcat's. Any way here is some info that should help.

I know it is hard to see and to read it but you can find it at http://64.78.42.182/sweethaven/MechTech/hydraulics01/moduleMain.asp?whichMod=0404

More info.

Here is a Hyd. pump, I have been thinking of making a small one of these. I have the gears to make one but not a mill. If you have some questions shoot me a line I will see if I can answer them for you.

i have a little knowledge on hydraulics also, after fixing an old buldozer.

a question i do have is why are they so strong compared to other types of motors, it would seem that the shaft could lock up and the hydraulics fluid would just flow right through the gears and note do anything.

and now im going to try and answer my own question, you tell me if im right:)

hyraulic motors work by pumping high preasure fluid through two gears inside a sealed case that spin a shaft. im thinking that the closer you can get the gears to the wall of the case and to eachother the better it is going to work because not as much fluid can pass by the gears in a way that doesnt apply force to them.

thats a sweet cad, it would be interesting if a system like this could be made small enough to fit in a super rig. i doubt that it could be made small enough to fit in a 2.2 though.
