So I just got the new RCDriver and look what one of the adds was.

So yes it is nitro and its 8th scale, but it is shaft driven 4 wheel drive and looks beautiful. The tires are asymmetrical Michelin rally tires and the body is a licensed Abu Dhabi Ford Fiesta.

I think I need one and change it over to electric."thumbsup"

Alright everyone discuss.

I must of missed that add....looks bad ass! MMM + 2200kv = :twisted::twisted::twisted:

I was thinking the MMP and 2400KV would probably be enough, but I like your thinking."thumbsup"

I had the 2200 in my RC8Te on 4cell and it's wicked. It's the perfect combo for the 8, so should be sweet in something like that.

That looks cool. I go a associated tc3 I was going to build up to be a rally car but no one makes parts for it now. I don't know about the nitro but electric 8th scale rally would he a blast.

Tower still has a bunch of TC-3 parts. And all but the front arms for the rally conversion parts list. I just built one, got it off ebay and got really lucky. The guy I bought it from didn't know it had the rally kit on it already and I picked it up for $100 shipped ARTR with a Triton charger.

I would still use your TC for a rally car, conversion or not. I would just get the front bumper, convert the shocks and rear tower. That's what I had planning with mine but lucked out.

Cool man thanks for the info. I picked mine up with drift tires when I traded a guy a emaxx trans.

Looks like tower only has the rally front bumper now. Are the rally shock towers different then the stock?

No problem! Here's a link to the Rally Kit instructions, the last page has the parts list with part numbers. I used the search option at Tower and found them all but the front arms. Older nitro ones make work as well, but I'm not 100%, since they are 200mm.

The rear tower was the only one that was replaced, and I'm not sure what was the difference in the two. I'm still learning myself.

I'm going to do a build thread here soon."thumbsup"

Found some more photos.

Did you find any info on what it's based on or is it an all new platform? I looked on HPI's site and they don't have anything on it, but man are they rolling out the 1/8th buggies. Both nitro and electric. I digging it for sure! Damn you Ty! Something else to buy!

There are a couple options for what I have seen as far as where the chassis came from. Either a D8, a nitro rs4 or even the new apache chassis. There still is not much information on the car besides what was in the add.

I saw in a few places that it is probably just a 4 wheel drive buggy chassis with shorter A arms and shock towers, similar to what Tamiya did with the DF03RA.
I think only time will tell, but I will keep digging."thumbsup"

Ty

It is super easy to convert the kyosho inferno gt1 to Brushless. RC MOnster sells a motor mounting kit.

Plus it's a subi.

I've been waiting for an R/C company to release a new rally car for so long! I'd really love to get one of these but I think I would convert it to electric too.

I had one of HPI's old RS4 Rally (electric) with a Castle Sidewinder 4600KV, 2S lipo and loved it! Then I converted a nitro RS4 3 Evo to a rally setup and it was great, but I got tired of the nitro setup. And it's too small for real offroading.

It would be great if HPI or Pro-Line would release new bodies for the WR8 too. 1/8th scale should be perfect. "thumbsup"
